Voters gave control of the federal government and both chambers of Congress to Republicans; this is the consequences of the 2024 election. Democrats cannot stop it unless voters elect them.
They wouldn’t let the Senator visit Garcia at the prison; instead, they dressed up Garcia and transported him to this hotel so that El Salvador’s dictator could crack jokes on Twitter about him being so poorly treated that he’s sipping margaritas.
Correct, yes. You can look up the tweet from El Salvador’s dictator - they temporarily arranged for his plain clothes and fancy location so they could crack jokes about him “sipping margaritas”.
It’s not about no one giving a shit: it’s because the country handed the Presidency to a criminal and Senate Republicans let him staff the Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, Pentagon with people who will let him do crimes. This is why you don’t elect criminals.
You are widely over-estimating how informed his voters were when they picked him and how informed they are now with what he’s doing. A large percentage are just smooth-brained mouth breathers who thought electing the President from before the pandemic would magically give them pre-pandemic cost of living.
This is the FBI Director now, because they needed a guy who would 1) let Trump do crimes and 2) try to jail his enemies.
The amount of news coverage on who VOTERS thought would be better for the economy versus the amount of news coverage on who ECONOMISTS thought would be better for the economy was about 999 to 1.
I agree with all of that, but nothing drastically changed in those regards between 2020 (when Biden won) and 2024 (when Harris lost).
Voter suppression not really an issue in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania - but Harris lost of all of those States, too. Voters blew it.
🤣 thank you for this.
Republican playbook: attack a marginalized group, expect Democrats to show basic human decency and come to group’s defense, then accuse Democrats of only caring for said marginalized group and not “real Americans”. Then, win election & help those already ungodly wealthy become even richer.
Sure. But each time America had a President who took action to combat climate change, voters replaced them with a climate change denier who vowed to undo all of that work instead of with a candidate who vowed to continue that work.
That’s the idea, yes.
Once you have your home charger you’ll never look back; save the public charging for road trips.
Right!?
Ah but Governor Brian Kemp will most certainly pardon Trump for any state crimes in Georgia :/
So long as Trump or some other Republican doesn’t win the Presidency and pardon him, yes.
Right, so I think shorter lives for appliances is more an unintended consequence of trying to increase profit margins by switching to cheaper components than it is some twirling mustached boss saying, “make it break on purpose after 3 years instead of 9 so they have to buy another one from us!”.
Stuff certainly isn’t built like it used to be, but the problem I see with the “PLANNED” obsolescence theory is if a company’s shit breaks well before expected, I don’t think people are inclined to race out and buy that brand again.
Fox was paying Tucker $35M per year; OAN doesn’t have that kind of money for a host that does one hour per night.
If 60% of “youths” voted, they would BE the establishment. Could have whatever candidates they want and run the country.
We only have 2 political parties; when times are tough a certain % of the population just defaults to the opposite party of who’s in charge.
It’s not for *them* though, it’s so *me* and the other 90%+ of Twitter readers can trust we’re reading the real person.
“Pay us a monthly fee or we’ll let people impersonate you” does not sound well-thought through.
Worse than crickets, they’re helping him do damage control, giving him airtime to run with that ridiculous defense as they nod along.
It’s true. And the whole conservative media ecosystem decided to embrace anti-vax hysteria because higher case counts was bad for Biden.
225,153 Americans died between the day he told people not to worry about covid because they’ll survive, and the day he left office.
They know that their base has no reliable sources of information in their lives.
This looks excellent. Great work!
