When I went on vacation recently I had to have my laptop running 24/7 to keep steam from logging out and being unable to launch any games.
to re log in after it closes. At least, that's been my experience. Steam games wouldn't run until I had logged back into steam online. 2/2
From my experience, the offline mode only works until you need to shut your computer down or otherwise turn off steam. It requires you 1/2
