He didn't plea his charges down. His big charges were gone when Rittenhouse was found not guilty, but he plead no contest to contributing to the delinquency of a minor because he did that.
I'm telling you that the truth is that while you've heard that plea deals are bad, you obviously don't understand anything else about them, why they happen, or much else at all. You don't get time served as part of a plea deal. You get it because you were imprisoned before you were found guilty.
That's not how time served works. The time they were awaiting trial gets taken off their sentence. Nobody is offering a plea deal that sends them home for a crime that has a 30 year punishment. You have no idea what you're talking about.
