Non-binary nerd who falls down rabbitholes of minutia and miscellanea.
It probably does, but I actually have a shutter remote, so it's less impressive.
Thanks?! I'm not sure how I feel about being anyone's favorite anything.
Yep. Though, they are less ample than they appear. What you see is the result of some padding, pushing, and squeezing.
Having read most of Snyder's Batman run, Last Knight on Earth, and both Metal events, Ab. Batman definitely is just DC letting him play with his toys however he wants without having to worry about continuity. I would say that the most recent arc (which will be part of Vol. 3), The Seventh Kingdom, was my favorite in terms of the body horror just because it fits the arc's villain the best, imo. Considering recent solicits, I'm also looking forward to what they will be doing with Dick.
Of the first 3 Absolute titles, Superman is definitely my favorite just due to the way that Kal is more isolated due to the origin changes and has to learn to step into the light. all while still having the same core ethos - help people - as main universe Clark. WW is great as well, but in my opinion Diana feels the least changed with the exception of her more direct usage of magic. As for Batman, it's a ride and I like it, but it is a bit to edgy/"metal" for me sometimes, especially the art.
TPB Volumes 1 and 2 are out (issues 1 to 14), but I can't find a release for any subsequent volumes yet.
I'll be honest, I cropped out my other foot and most of the one you see; I knew I might get a "step on me" comment even then. :P
I don't think they would let me into the movie theater dressed like that.
I do hate using the same title over and over, so I figured the upside-down text would fit with the messed up lighting.
Not really. My camera's light correction freaked out and I kinda liked how it looked, so I decided to share.
Yes, yes they are, though some pushing, lifting, squeezing, and creative angling are making them look a bit more impressive.
And thank you for the compliment!
Happy to hear that!
Great to hear!
I struggle with names all the time, even when I am told multiple times. As a substitute, if I ever have to call names out loud, I always preface with "I apologize in advance if I mispronounce your name." There are some kids that I have had multiple times where I see their names on the roster, and know they have told me how to pronounce it, but my brain just can't properly recall it.
Same as here. Just keep in mind it is a lowercase "L" not an uppercase "I" (a few people have though it was andrich, so they couldn't find me).
I have a couple more from this set, in color, over on s3nd if you do want a bit more, otherwise, nothing else for this week. Sorry.
Yes! I finally have time to tackle House of Leaves this weekend since I don't have any pressing errands or events to worry about!
Okay, I love "theydy," but I'm not picky about labels, so anything is fine.
Thanks! Yeah, it is a bit surreal thinking back that I was hesitant to explore this side of me more fully.
Ah, that makes sense. Luckily I'm not an entomologist so I will only be mildly annoyed with this knowledge. The more and more I see how much LitRPG there is out there, the more and more I wonder how I wasn't aware of most of it for so long.
Not yet, but if I'm remembering correctly, it is on the list.
That is oddly specific advise for a narrow audience. I assume that it has some really infuriating misinformation or misrepresention of bumblebees?
The THT is just the hook to pull people in for the books. ๐ That said, I do make a monthly book-only, non-leggy post over on S3ND where I give impressions of all the books I read for the month, along with the occasional random recommendation post, if you ever want to check that out.
By all means. I know I'll never get to everything on the list, but it's great to have more options.
Well, even if I don't pick it up right now, just seeing your comment might pique someone else's interest to pick it up. That has always been the secondary purpose for the list (the first obviously being to give me new things to read).
A "refusing the call" protagonist? That actually sounds kinda fun. I'll add it to the list and maybe pick it up next month (like I mentioned, I want to avoid starting any new series at the moment).
I've been mostly subbing for high school these past few months, so the only real reason that I've read so much is that I have a lot of downtime to read while the kids are doing their assignments. I've been lucky that I have gotten some pretty chill classes that don't require constant attention/discipline.
Yeah, despite the otherworldly premise, the underlying story and themes of Dev's struggles through her early life and her present are very grounded in reality for many women.
The relationship that MJ and Venom have is much more antagonistic and they are only bonded because they are keeping each other alive (due to some dumb fall out from the Venom War storyline), leading to them being more separate beings working together than a single melded mind.
