I run an EFHW cut for 40m at the house, but I can only get it strung up at 24ft. However, I have plans to pick up a DX Commander. I figure It would be more efficient with resonant λ/4 verticals, and takes the inefficiencies from the tuner out of the equation. Every watt counts, especially if you only have 10 of them...haha

Pretty much... To me it's the challenge of making a contact from half way around the world using nothing more than radio waves. When I made a contact in Antarctica, I was downright giddy...
