22 years ago, the Conservatives were two parties. The Progressive Conservatives and Reform (far-right) merged together to create the modern Conservative Party. The problem is that, much like the Tea-Party / MAGA movement in the USA, the Reform-wing of the party took over the entire leadership of the party. Now, the modern Conservatives are emulating what they were 30 years ago, which was, unfortunately, the Reform Party.
Everyone I know who were planning on traveling to the USA have canceled their trips indefinitely. Crossing the border just isn't safe anymore.
He may be an idiot, but this is a common tactic he has used regularly throughout his life.
The taxes / policies are municipal, not federal.
The policies are per municipality and have been implemented in larger cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Ottawa's is called the 'Vacant Unit Tax', and it's not quite what he described, but the intent is similar.
I've used this machine for archival purposes. Although they look cool, they break down more often than they function. The technician was in our office monthly trying to keep them working.

This is a big story here. The Department of Transportation is now doing a joint investigation / audit with the Department of Justice into the obvious fraud.
A sad and rarely spoken truth about Canada; it's actually quite difficult to immigrate here. It takes a fairly long time, and the pathways to doing so can be quite narrow in scope, even for our closest allies. I wish you luck, but you may have had to start that process years ago...
By law, ads in Canada HAVE to have that line if they are paid for by either a governmental body or a political party. Likely, whomever approved the billboard kept it to Canadian legal standards, not realizing it could be misunderstood in the USA. As a Canadian, that line is just second nature and we would automatically understand its meaning.
The very unfortunate truth is that, although most Canadians don't hate our American neighbors, brothers, and sisters, we are pissed at the majority of you. Specifically at the ones who joined the MAGA cult and the ones who didn't bother to go fucking votes. The whole world knew how important that election was, and yet it was still only a 64% VEP turnout. Apathy Ave idiocy has wrought this destruction.

Almost no one from Canada would call an indigenous person an Indian anymore. Not for a long time. Maybe other derogatory or outdated terms, but almost never Indian.
Nope, the original definitely aired in Canada (ontario) when it first came out. Just as creepy then, even without the second half.
Granted the video quality isn't clear, but that cat does not look in good condition. Looking at its ears, they are frayed and possibly have been frost bitten. The cat looks more like a stray.
Some mascots' suits have padded gloves because they were shaped. However, the ones I wore were just a simple cotton glove with no padding (and only 3 fingers), which is fairly typical.
I used to work as a mascot when I was in undergrad. Drunks who wanted to fight me while I was in the suit was a fairly common thing. They didn't seem to realize, however, that we had padded body armor and helmets under the fur suit.
I'm Canadian and I followed the scott fine. My guess is that the older person is of the opposite party and is doing it to get cheap shots in / discredit the speaker.
I'm guessing you haven't been following what Doug Ford has been pushing through in Ontario... it's looking grimm
I was going to say this. Selecting pre-pay amounts is a standard option at all major gas station chains in Canada that I've seen. I'm actually shocked that it's not in the US.
There are a lot more bigots in Canada than we like to admit.
ATTENTION: WE NEED MORE PEOPLE SUBMITTING INTERVENTIONS IN SUPPORT OF REMOVING FOX. A quick random sampling of 15 or so entries shows that a majority of the current submissions are in defense of Fox. This is likely the only chance we've got to get rid of Fox in Canada, but it requires action for it to happen!
