She was the 3rd of 6 kids, and it was common practice for them to kind of lie to the younger two kids who were under eight about when their dad would come home because there were often last minute delays in his return. The’f usually inflate by 2-3 weeks, that way if there were delays, oh well, and if dad got home “early”, well who would be sad about that?
