Before the support guy messaged them asking if I had been in the building today as I was showing away on IM and he needed to speak to me. I rang him and asked what he needed me to do and he repeated what they had been told so I restarted the machine for him and solved the issue. I didn’t mind them being unsure of his phrasing, what annoyed me was them not asking for clarification and being condescending when they asked me to help and I told them what to do
I once walked in the office & a manager ran over to me as she was on IM with one of our support guys who wasn’t able to remote on to a pc, he asked her to “power it down and then back up” which had caused a panic as her and another colleague were not sure what he meant and didn’t want to ask in case they should have known. I told them to do a shutdown and then turn it on before I was told with a smirk he hadn’t asked for that he asked for it to be powered down and back up. I wished them luck
