I suppose we should remember this as a survival technique. A way to gather fresh meat with minimal effort and skill.

I think he will be remembered like Rush Limbaugh is remembered. Rush Limbaugh is barely remembered. A footnote. A guy that when someone says the name you are like "oh, I remember that guy" and then five minutes later that is it. No more thought about him. Neither Rush nor Charlie contributed anything to the world. Spread hatred and anger and cashed in on it. When the shooter is caught the story will be far more about the shooter than Charlie Kirk.
I saw a guy hit a deer that was so far away it looked like a speck on the horizon. That guy was the best shot I ever knew.
I went to a small Texas school. I remember them going over how tariffs did not lower prices and hurt the people rather than punish other countries. Then again, they also taught us the cause of the Great Depression was because washing machines were built too well.
I say let the guy have the hat. Put in him a 4X8 cell with no windows and only a slot to slide food through. Put him in there naked with just that hat that is so precious to him and weld the door shut.
To be fair I think a lot of us want to see semi-automatic weapons banned in the US. There is no reason for them. Hunting? Bolt action, pump action, lever action, and single fire do just fine. No need for a spray and pray. Home protection? A revolver is more dependable and can pack a better whollop. The only time a person really needs to have a semi-automatic (especially one with a high capacity magazine) is when they want to shoot a lot of people in a short amount of time.
My guess is when he dies his cult is going to go on a rampage. They will automatically come up with a dozen conspiracy theories about how Hillary Clinton in a ninja costume poisoned Trump. And it would not surprise me if Trump has made "play when I am dead" videos instructing the MAGA to burn the US down.
Trump dying would result in a civil war within the Republican party. At least a dozen people would be claiming they inherit MAGA. They will split into factions and start fighting like crazy. Meanwhile the actual MAGA cult would be saying that Trump as assassinated by Hillary Clinton and that this is the beginning of the New World takeover they have been predicting. So they will start going crazy at the same time. Might not be a bad idea to stock up on bags of rice and beans and toilet paper
If he was very sick or in a coma or something I can for sure see some of he aides doing that. I can even see them pulling up ChatGPT to compose stuff the way Trump writes. The idea would be to fake him being active hoping he gets better soon. My guess is he has been needing some medical treatments lately and right now he is getting a bunch of them done and is incapacitated. They will pump him with some drugs so he can make an appearance soon. And also they will get a better makeup person.
I think for him the most fitting would be a stroke that does not kill him but paralyzes him. Without being able to talk and give speeches and so forth all of his close allies would put him in a hospital somewhere and ignore him. He would learn he has no friends, just people who wanted in on his power. His family would get power of attorney and do whatever they want. The only attention he would get would be various people wanting photo ops with him and then leave him alone when the cameras stop.
My submission is Patrick Bateman. Patrick Bateman is the loser of his group. He does not have the best girlfriend. He cannot get into the best restaurants. He can't even get the best business card. Whenever he compares himself to his peers he comes up short but stull sees himself as superior to them. He is either murdering or imagining murdering to try to build some sort of power alter ego for himself.
When I am watching a movie I eat the popcorn I buy. Stuff is way too expensive to drop on the floor.
So let me get this straight, he decided he was going to make that flag special by putting his name on it? He thought it was improving it? I would love to see the MAGA mental gymnastics to defend this. I know they will too. And they will say they will swear on a stack of bibles that they saw videos of Obama or Hillary Clinton burning the flag on the White House lawn or something. They will swear that the sneaky liberal media took all of those videos down.
If they did it with paint then it would be called vandalism and then SWAT would be called in and there would be people "resisting arrest" so ultra violent tactics would be used. In fact would not be surprised if it turned into a mass shooting where all of the officers involved are later found not guilty.
Another thing that makes a big difference is setting up free childcare centers so parents can drop their kids off while they work. In the cities where that has been tested there has been a significant drop in crime and a rise in the local economy.
On the Hunter S Thompson quote, I think it depends on the definition of "progress". But that is the problem too. Too many people have ideas of what progress is.
The thing about all of this is, it is about our poorly managed health care system. All profit and no health. There are going to be plenty of people with nothing to lose who decide that taking out one of the people responsible is the thing to do. The system can execute this guy but the next guy will not care because he was already given a death sentence because someone wanted to make a few dollars more.
but hey, the billionaires are doing great so we should be celebrating, right?
And we all know Trump is now going to step up and demand he get the Nobel Peace Prize for bombing Iran.
In theory it would require a constitutional amendment to change but lately Republicans (especially Trump) think they can rewrite the constitution on the back of a cocktail napkin.

You will have to wait until a Democrat is elected to office. Trump won't lift a finger to investigate the guy. In fact, might do a preemptive pardon just to make sure the Democrats could not get to him.
It makes sense. It is a show of force from the Russians. Trying to make the world believe that they were not harmed by the attack. That their ability to bomb is not affected. However, I bet they won't be able to sustain this for long. Big show of force or two and then they will get quiet and start licking their wounds.
You don't need a nuclear war for an apocalypse. A bad enough variant of the flu can do it.
The only remedy is to impeach and remove him. But highly doubtful Congress would do that even if 100% incontrovertible evidence came about that Trump was a Russian agent who has been selling secrets for the last 40 years came out. They do not care about the US. They care about their own wealth and power and removing Trump is a threat to their own wealth and power.
Skunks often get to make calls like that. I once saw one stand up to a bull that weighed over a ton. Bull saw him and came over to check it out. Skunk said no and puffed up. Bull insisted. Then Skunk turned around and did the hand stand. Bull suddenly started running backwards.
That would be hilarious. Especially if he dumped a ton of evidence to show all of it. Then watch and see how those MAGA people react. In theory it will not get Trump removed unless Musk could prove Trump knew about it and was in on it. Even then you have to get Congress to impeach. Still, would be interesting to watch the MAGA do their mental gymnastics to defend Trump in that situation.
I have a feeling buried somewhere deep in that bill is something that allows billionaires to consider all sorts of stuff tips but if you are waiting tables then that money left for you is not considered a tip and you now have to pay higher taxes on it.
