I don't think we're *assumed* to be. It's just that a high enough percent of men ARE sexual predators, so people would rather not expose themselves to risk. This man knew his intentions were good but no one else has any way of knowing that. I'm not saying he shouldn't have picked her up, I'm just saying stranger danger is an appropriate response to a very real threat. Being a man means understanding that and not getting your feelings hurt when people don't just assume you have good intentions

It's fun that liberals did in fact gain control of the white house immediately after this and uhhhh tried to pass a harsher border bill than even Republicans wanted, are actively supporting and funding a genocide in the middle east, haven't codified abortion rights, canceled .001% of student loan debt (not all of it as promised) and have generally continued to campaign on the same platform of stopping the fascist right through voting while doing absolutely nothing to stop the fascist right
