Totally agree. It was such a long wait for the book to be released and I was disappointed.
The Twelve is pretty decent, but I found The City of Mirrors to be cramped with a little too much. After the long wait it was a let down.
The Passage is one of those books I just don't get tired of reading. Absolutely love it! The sequels aren't as great sadly, but worth a read
