I used to post my food a lot, but with *gestures vaguely* my passion sort of dried up.
But today, the inspiration to make an old favourite hit me so I did.

All you need is
1/2 package of spaghetti (about 500 g),
1 1/2 cups cheap grated Parmesan cheese,
1 or more heads of garlic diced fine,
1 egg (if eggs are a luxury where you live, some heavy cream and olive oil will be fine),
100 g or so of diced pancetta or what ever salty meat you have on hand (frozen shrimp also works!),
1 cup of frozen peas

1. Cook pasta to al dente
2. Pan fry garlic and meat in a large skillet
3. Beat egg and Parmesan cheese in a bowl
4. Toss in peas when pasta has 2 minutes left to cook
5. Drain pasta and immediately add it and the cheese mixture to the skillet with the meat and garlic - toss vigorously

Serve with a tossed salad - if like me you are alone, this gives you a sumptuous dinner and a few days of lunches you don’t need to make

I don’t need your pity!

…otherwise, it serves 4.

Aside from using bacon instead of pancetta I do a near identical thing. Though I use a very specific bacon to my area. I do hope you get access and funds to use fresher than pre-grated parm or pecorino romano mixed in will add to the dish. Otherwise Good eats and good sleeps my guy.

Yep. Thanks for the tip though this is more a survival tip than it is any culinary masterpiece.

Sometimes when you’re so depressed. You can’t even get out of bed sometimes, let alone actually have the energy and the will to cook.

This is something i can do before my gas runs out when the ol’ high function triggers somehow.

Agreed. Pasta is my go to dish when everything else seems too daunting.
