well I don't subscribe to the idea that freedom is an absolute inalienable right. (I do like it though)
EmotionallyMagnificient
Freedom doesn't mean total immunity to laws. It's the ability to have a voice and a say in what those laws are. Maybe you're confused.
Just watchin ppl yell that the other group cant yell is crazy..!
xenburnn
it only comes into play when others are involved

"Free country" is a verrrrrry old holdover and just refers to freedom for the British...that's about it. Freedom from foreign rule.

As far as I care, there is literally nothing I'm not allowed to do that doesn't harm others.

Cocaine??
Well think about it within the context of my answer.

Seat belts?
I'm allowed to wear them, yes.
NatKingCole
Just because you're free to make a choice does not mean that you should make that choice.
HereKillYaSelf
But who has the right to say don't make that choice if you're the only one affected?
Everyone does. I mean, maybe they shouldn't, just because they're free to. See where I'm going with this?
I get what you're trying to say but I still feel even if it's a dumb idea they should be allowed too
dEdGrimley
Unlimited freedom is the worst idea ever. However, if what you're doing only affects you, you should be able to do it.
Surrealle
There is very little that only affects you, particularly if the action is carried out in large scale numbers
septillion
seat belts, yes or no
Is your question: "Should you be required to wear seatbelts by law"?
yee
No, you should not be required to wear seatbelts by law. I think the law was invented to create additional revenue for the police to make
up for a deficit in general police funding.
