I prefer Kawasaki tools. They run well, for what I typically need.

No. Bad. Don't shame people for having hobbies. Fucking stop that.

I love this one, partly because Shen seems to actually be a decent person, and not, you know, a nazi, like one of the other versions. There are so many better versions than that one. Sarah Andersen's version is one.

Profiling people targets neurodivergent people and people with mental illnesses, and anxiety. It's also very often racially motivated.

The bad guys from 1942 found out that torture didn't work. It's one of a few pieces or research from them that's actually good, and I hate that I have to acknowledge that.

I'd be a lot happier if I could shapeshift.

So is punk. Stop trying to strictly define either, and kick nazis out.

Hell yeah!

Internet Explorer wouldn't do this to me.

Men, women, shambling mounds that can give enthusiastic, informed consent. Doesn't matter. Though my attraction to men has always felt heteronormative and my attraction to women has always felt queer. Probably should have seen that as a sign, but I didn't know what I didn't know, so I'll give myself a little grace and a little love. I deserve that much.

I bet Jar Jar Binks is a lovely person in real life. Well, now that I think about it, he did kind of give Sheev the power to make the Empire. Ah well. We can't all be perfect.

Please. I need my lungs.

Me too, bud. Me too.

My dad made me feel that way. I've pulled some of them out now that he's gone.

Making fun of Lovecraft and his xenophobia is the only correct solution.

I love my cats.

I've been reading a gay smut book I got for free. It's pretty good so far.

Normalizing queer folks in traditional spaces is helpful. Rainbow capitalism provides visibility, and yes, it sucks, and yes it's about corporate greed, but good or bad, visibility is still visibility. It helps normalize people being in traditional spaces.

I love these two and their cute gay relationship.

Here I am making carbonara out of packet ramen, because it's what I have on hand.

God I love this show. I also love that all the anime bullshit can be explained as being from a child's perspective. Also, I think Yor might be AroAce, which is awesome.

This is why I can't do unpainted minis. I shake too much.

Let me be a hot plague doctor.

Please, just explain your reasoning, and why it works, and I'll be happy to do the work.

God forbid women do anything.

God forbid women have hobbies.

Sex work is real work. Union work is real work. Military work is real work. We respect (almost) all kinds of work boots(Not police. Never police.) in this house.

Asking for me. Please. I need to know.

My cats would shoot the ceiling. He does not have conflict resolution skills, and people who don't have that shouldn't have guns.

Leftist infighting is fucking stupid.

Yes. Yes they did.

BABY!

Yes. He's a narcissist, and an abuser. Same as Astarion. You cannot fix them. If they know what's good for them, they'll fix themselves, but they won't.

Just be kinder. It costs less than cruelty.

Exactly.

I'm comfortable strictly defining punk as a movement that excludes all Nazis.

I am excitedly waiting for someone to miss the whole point and point how one unique group on the left sucks and the rest of people on the left would be better without them.

Generations of theorizing over praxis has produced firing squads so flawlessly circular that you could use their ratios to calculate pi.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

The Democratic Party hates guns because of its unswerving tendency to shoot itself in the foot and the leftist love of circular firing squads.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

My dude. The Democratic Party of the USA is centrist-right at best. It looks left just because the GOP is even worse...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

#45 I'm glad people are starting to talk on this, the range of leftist circle feelings on men seems to be light wariness to flagrant disdain. We're victims of the systems that have been set in place too, and the actions of the severely ill among us are a direct result of the circumstances; The average guy simply has no socially acceptable emotional outlet outside of a partner. Being without one for years, maybe decades, means your every struggle festers within your mind. We all need change.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#2 I mean, are you right that we shouldn't shame people for their hobbies? Yes.

Am i still going to send this to friends that are into 40k? Oh fuck yes.

I am very into Legos myself and found it funny. I sent this to my buddy who is very into Warhammer and he said "Accurate lol"

#8 I think these people would appreciate Metal Gear Solid 3, in which the bad guy tries torturing people for information, but not only fails to get useful information doing so, he often ends up blurting useful information himself.

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Volgin, that moron

2 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

There's no Metal Gears OR Solid Snake in that game.

It should be Shagohod Naked.

And later in the series, there's Sehalanthropus Punished V.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

What do you mean there's no snakes? You can literally shoot and eat them in game.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That whole thing about males and attractiveness is too real for me. I used to work retail, and I lost count of the times I would see the girls swooning over some dirtbag-looking customer. "Oh, he's hot! I hope he comes through my line so I can get his number!" And us guys were just "That guy? THAT guy? The guy we've all been watching like a hawk to make sure he doesn't steal anything or stab somebody? THAT'S who you want?" Part of me sort of understands incels a bit, since all of us boys were >

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

< raised by our parents to be Prince Charming, and then we get to the real world and all the girls go for Gaston.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yep. Lots of guys had that experience, and that's the primary source for the mentality that evolved into incels.

There you go. That sort of thing. I imagine, with no proof whatever, that the pill making machine is 300 years old and paid off so it suits everyone, especially poor people, to have affordable headache tablets. You can spend more if you like a name brand

#48 my personal rule is that if I ever meet anyone in real life who reminds me of a character that I would like in fiction, I am going to run very very far away

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

OP is wrong, you literally can and do fix your BG3 companions. But it's part of the fantasy lol

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

#19 my wife always tells me it's adorable when we settle down for the night and I grab the teddies to cuddle with us. Masc-coded folks out there, I gotta tell you, it's pretty great being called cute or adorable by someone you can be truly vulnerable with. Don't be afraid to let your guard down, it's worth it.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Listen, if he's a "general" warhamner fan, maybe. But if he paints/plays tabletop? This dude ain't cheating on you. He ain't abusing you. No need to run. He WILL probably spend money, sure. You may lose the basement to a game room or 3D print farm. But if you dip your toe into the hobby at all? You will be put on a golden throne and treated like an Emperor/Empress. And he probably showers more than an MTG player to boot!

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I have concerns about being treated like an Emperor/Empress while referencing 40k. I'm not a good judge though, I've barely been exposed. I did buy the Caiphus Cain series the other day to see if I like it enough to bother with the more serious/grimdark stuff.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ciaphas Cain is fun, I'd probably head to reading the Eisenhorn trilogy next if I were you...it does a decent job easing you into various factions and provides some solid noir storytelling.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not about cheating, its about the disconcertingly large proportion of the WH40K fanbase who are incapable of understanding that the Imperium is a satirical parody of out-of-control fascism, and instead think they're Cool And Based. Don't get me wrong, huge suits of powered armor and guns that fire cannon shells like 9mms are cool, but the factions themselves are all just different flavors of horrible bastard.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Like, if the theoretical person being referenced in the meme is one of those fans who acknowledges that their faction are fucked up assholes, and plays them not because they idolize or admire them but because they like the mechanics and the gameplay, then that's fine. But if they start trying to justify it beyond that, run.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

sadly the first time i heard of the warhammers it was from folks that turned into the nasty maga and one even turned very bad evangelical once he was converted to a faith.. so its always left a bad taste in my mouth after getting away from those folks. but thankfully i did meet a good sweet guy that did prove there could be good dudes that dont play the game to indulge in fantasy racism they couldn't get away with in the real world.. cause the online games you find plenty that do x.x

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I ripped an iv out of my arm by accident, and I bled all the way across the ward like a fuckin supersoaker. I wanted to pretend it wasn't me but that's hard when there's a literal line of blood that starts partway up the wall on the other side of the room and leads right back to your feet.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#48 but, I mean, you literally can. If you have conversations with them throughout where you call out shitty behaviour by the end they are both semi-decent human/elf beings. Admittedly, Astarion is still a murdering vampire, but that's hardly his fault. You don't even need to romance them to do it, much like in real life - call your friends on their shitty behaviour!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

#15 Glad to see he helped with the propagation of the species!

This is why women aren't allowed pockets... Or maybe the things women will do just to get pockets... hmm

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Oh sure, when a man holds up several banks and guns cops down, they get a movie. When we casually steal items off the shelf harming no one, we get pockets removed. This timeline is bullshit!

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

It absolutely is.

#8 I will say, Jacob Geller's video is all about the same sort of stuff the tumblr post is talking about. You can even see the quotation marks around good and bad in the second picture.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

With a little extra about just How bad it is that media portrays things in these ways.

Like how a Supreme Court Justice argued for torture because it worked for Jack Bauer.

#32 And then they became roommates

I hear they eat out a lot. Taco Tuesday happens almost every night.

I find it very interesting that I know basically the bare minimum about Lovecraft (from running Call of Cthulhu TTRPGs), and apparently that's enough for me to get 60% of the characters in his famously-named cat's name correct on my first guess, when told nothing more than he famously named a cat very wrong.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Well, most anything we had back then isn't a slur now.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The "-man" is the 40% I didn't expect.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The math checks out.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#2 Idk, man. Warhammer a pretty good indicator whether someone's a) fiscally responsible, b) creative, and c) depending what faction they're *super into*, whether they're a fucking nazi

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

Yeah, they can get crazy.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The image is more about money than anything. Most of the "green flag/red flag" things are about how poor you're gonna be if you marry this person. And Warhammer is a legit red flag on that front... I know so many people who invest more than half of their paychecks into Warhammer.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The top comment last time it was posted makes sense to me. If they like Warhammer, fine. If they play any of the factions "because they're the good guys in the setting" then they don't really understand the setting and probably some other things.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Idk man, I think those 'nids make some good points, maybe we should mindlessly devour galaxy after galaxy!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It disturbs me how many Nazis are into the Imperium despite it almost being an explicit joke made at the expense of Fascists. The Imperium of Man is my favorite faction exactly BECAUSE they are a fucked up dark reflection of what type of heinous shit humanity could be.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Media literacy is antithetical to fascists, otherwise they'd see that almost all mainstream media is about how they should be opposed wherever possible.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Orks are good guys...

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was more thinking about the lego stuff. Though my buddy who does Warhammer, is the one who sent me the trans Mackie which serves as my sign off on my posts.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Man, thats OG Mech right there. No wonder I couldn't recognize it..

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still, shaming people for having hobbies is bad.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It's my hobby though

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're *mostly* right. However, in my experience, the type of hobby and how far they're into it is a pretty good indicator of what the person is like.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

#36 Read as much as you can. If there’s a word you like, spell it like you saw it written. If that’s hard to do, find help. But reading more is a good start

#7 - I own four headless computers. They don't have a GUI. They do not accept mouse input. How else am I supposed to operate them?

2 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 3

You can operate them sure, but it needs to be done "effectively".
Which I would never call operating a headless server.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm gonna be a pedant here because this stuff is like an autistic interest of mine, but headless does not mean no GUI, just that (when there is one, optionally) it's not a locally rendered GUI. Since you have 4 I expect you're well-aware, so I mention it more for others (really just myself)

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

even today, windows mostly has hotkeys for mouseless operations. (depending on the app)

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Try operating a Mac without a mouse. Like...just see if you can figure out how to activate the menu bar from the keyboard, without looking it up. It can be done, but it's *extremely* frustrating. Very few affordances for non-mouse users. (It doesn't imply there are NO computers that can be operated that way, just that NOT ALL computers can be operated that way.)

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Dude, you decapitated your computers? /s

They're talking about the TV/movie trope where someone sits down at a random office computer and proceeds to furiously type at 120 words per minute. Yes, there are computers that can, and in fact must, be controlled entirely with a keyboard, but that's not your typical office computer. Heck, even GUI-less Linux servers aren't controlled by 30 seconds of EXTREME HARDCORE CONTINUOUS HIGH-SPEED TYPING like in movies.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Kinda can though. Whenever I'm doing server admin stuff I end up not using the mouse much. Most programs are fully functional without a mouse.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They can be when you're retyping a RAT so you can go back to your hotel room and finish the engagement in your underwear drinking a scotch instead of walking around pretending to be Irwin the new intern..

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I started out with Apple IIe and proceeded to DOS 5.1 before I EVER had a Windows 3.11 machine. And many of the keyboard shortcuts - still ingrained in my muscle memory - DO work, thought 10 and 11 stripped some of them out and I've gone to short lengths to add some back in. You absolutely CAN use a computer with only the keyboard if you know what you're doing. And it's FASTER.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

*though.
I'm not retyping all that. XD

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I COULD copy/paste but it would be totally anathema to the topic at hand. ; )

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I admire your commitment to both the way of the keyboard and also transparency.

is gale supposed to be aweful? i keep seeing people saying that gale is like, gross and the worst. maybe im not far enough in the game but he came across to me as a bit of a cinnamon roll, whos ego caught them out once but they recognized both the mistake, and why it was a mistake.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

He is. He's a narcissist. He's a pretty textbook example of how they operate.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Unless there's some big spoilery ball drop moment after act 2, I don't see it? Is a guy having confidence, narcissism?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

the fact that you downvoted my comment, instead of telling me that theres something i havn't seen yet, leads me to believe that you just think a guy having confidence is the narcissism.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

First off, you need to give people time to respond. Secondly his power grab with the crown of karsus, the whole making mirror images of himself to admire, the throwing a shit fit if you don't feed his habit, and the keeping the fact the he has a bomb in chest hidden because he wants to fuck you, his second choice, is pretty gross. The fact that he uses you to get with mystra again is also pretty gross. If he's not a narcissist, he still makes my skin crawl.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Throwing a shit fit for not feeding his habit? It will literally kill him if you don't. This is like saying a diabetic is a narcissist for demanding their insulin. As for your other points, those are character flaws, but not necessarily narcissistic tendencies. I think that you may possibly not know what a narcissist is

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the first point, i don't know what thats about so, i guess?

the second point, the only time i've seen him do that was shortly after the nautiloid, and its pretty fair, i think, to want to examine your complexion after being infected by a parasite that he knows full well changes your complexion as you start to turn.

third; throwing a fit while being in, likely excruciating, pain because a black magic entity is eating away at you from the inside, is again fucking fair.
