I got cancer a year ago (malignant melanoma) and treatment was started in the form of immunotherapy (have made a few posts earlier about that) . 6 months later the doctors discovered that it wasn't working anymore and they put me on Tafinlar and Mekinist which showed good results.
However, the side effects were a challenge. The most serious one was heart attack. I got it in the morning and the pain was 7/10. I was admitted and they ran all sorts of tests and scans.
Another side effect was joint pain. Until now it have been kinda tolerable but now most of my joints hurts 7-8/10. Hands are almost useless; i can't make a proper fist since the finger joints have stiffened up and my wrist feels like there are shards of glass inside the joints. Joint mobility are almost gone. Knees and elbows have also decided to join the show and are worse than ever.
I have tried taking Oxycodon for the pain and that worked fine earlier. Tonight it doesn't seem to work as good as before.
It is a little comforting surfing imgur, thank you guys for posting weird sh*t.
P. S: if someone who has experience with these kind of things knows about anything that helps relieve pain, please leave a comment.

I used to take hot baths to ease my arthritis. It wasn’t a long term solution, but it gave me some relief. I also had electric hot pads to use throughout the day. Oxy did help me, but high doses of ibuprofen was my go to. I think they were 800mg. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Your oncologist should be helping you with pain management. If CBD isn't legal, you could try 1gram of Tylenol and 400mg of Advil at the same time. It should help with joint pain and is fine to take at the same time as your opiates. Call your pharmacist and check your cardiac meds first.

CBD oil. When my aunt had cancer, this was the only thing that helped in any significant way.

I can't take nsaids and I cannot stand how opioids make me feel so I use Aspercreme with lidocain and Voltaren gel for pain and inflammation. Voltaren is an nsaid but it doesn't go after my heart the way Aleve or Ibuprofen do. Both over the counter.

Since 6pm tonight i have taken 2 oxycodone 5mg,but the pain is still strong. Doc told me to try out Paracet 1g instead of oxycodone but it had no effect at all.
I don't like taking such strong meds since one get tingly and dizxy, but if it remove the pain i am all in.

So sorry to hear this. Curious if medical marijuana might be a possibility?

I don't think it's legal in Norway where i live. But at least i got free healthcare going for myself, which is nice...

It's great that you get free healthcare over there. Here in the US meds alone are astronomically expensive. One of my meds costs $1400+ for 3 months (insurance only brings the price down to $200). I had to go to the emergency room for major gut issues last summer. The doctors weren't able to figure out what was causing the pain and nausea or give me anything to help, but they still charged me over $15,000 dollars. Even with insurance I ended up having to pay a little over $3000 out of pocket.

I’m not sure I’d worry about the legality if it were me, but you might ask your Oncologist if it’s an option.
