We did a thing

We were a much deserved on vacation at the beach. After eating dinner, we were walking back to the hotel. It was already after dark, but we saw the striking silhouette of what we thought was a husky in the street lights. A man was walking two large dogs. We approached on the other side of the street and asked permission to meet them, especially since we had our little one. The man said yes, and they were friendly to us and our young lady. My wife fell in love and thanked him for letting us meet such sweet dogs. He seemed sad when he replied. He was the only known acquaintance of the owner, a man who died in the hospital the night before. He took the dogs out of the home, but his apartment manager said he could only keep them for 48 hours before taking them to the pound. They were a mother daughter pair and the mother was at least 10 years old. He was going to take them to the pound the next day. My wife lit up , and told me to take his number. We talked it over the next morning, brought our daughter for a second meeting, then sealed the deal. After a harrowing 3.5 hour drive, where both dogs basically ride in my wife’s lap because they were so scared, they arrived at their new home.

Almost everyone.

We are so happy with the new additions to our family and got to teach our daughter about how important it is to take care of our old and adult dogs in a time when everyone wants a puppy.
