Guardsmen posing for a photo in front of a statue of Rosa Parks. The only statue in the Capitol not connected to a specific state.
You can see along the wall, these sleeping Guardsmen were issued rifles. The article said they were also given riot shields.
This is the first time since the US Civil War that troops have been quartered within the Capitol.
Edit: I've been informed these guardsmen are just resting and are not "quartered" here. My apologies for that oversight.
I stand beside my comment that they are really very striking photos regardless.
