The design is very human.

I'd call it the Pizzacutioner's Axe.

Medieval execution style pizza

8 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think Ash used this in Evil Dead.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is it forbidden?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I Did A Thing (IDAT) is the channel on YouTube. Great Australian guy, and crazy engineer.

"...it chops through schools."

Really, right in front of Steve?

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...there... is nothing forbidden about this?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Forbidden!? This looks like the proper way they used to cut pizza for the Pope in the early C.E.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

fucking hell, we have such high quality video cameras in our pockets, everyone is walking about with hd+ capable devices and people cut and ruin quality content like this. I did a thing deserves much better than this garbage crop/border

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But I want it cut into 4 slices

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

-- Hei, do I cut your pizza into 8 or 12 slices?
-- 8, of course, I won't be able to eat 12.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

it needs a strike plate so you can set it on the pizza, then give it a whack with a mallet; off center cutting ruins the ability to share and it triggers visceral discomfort

Cut your pizza, break your counter

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a teacher can you add a few more blades?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lift & rotate & repeat as needed

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun math fact if you're two people sharing this pizza: As long as the center of the cutter hits inside the pizza, and you take every other slice, you get equal amounts of pizza. This generalizes for N people and a 4n-slicer.

8 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thanks, but 4n slices is just too much for me!

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You mean you and your 4 friends can't handle a pizza cut into 20 slices of 18° each?

This is one of hundreds of reasons why a chef's knife is a superior tool for the application.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So... like regular edging /s

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Try lifting it - I want to see how much of the pizza sticks to the knife lol

8 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

All of it.

8 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Honestly, it always bothered me that pizza placed don't typically cut the slices consistently. This kind of thing should be standard equipment in any pizza kitchen (perhaps minus the slamming and cutting through the wood block though).

Costco has a literal metal cutting guide https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/pizza-cutter-11400630.jpg?ct=jpeg

But on the whole, wheel, or big curved cutter and freehand is the way.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This approach would be my preference, honestly. Because with the pizza axe, as cool as it is, I can see this kinda thing happening a lot:

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(And also, as someone who once, many moons ago, used to work in a pizza restaurant, a big curved cutter is 𝘴𝘰 nice to use. We had guide markers on the cutting counter for ensuring we got the cuts in the right place. It's a simple addition but went a long way toward alleviating @cbale2000's issue with inconsistent slice sizes.)

"I did a thing" on youtube - great channel, it's an australian dude who makes dorky jokes in his invention vids

While wearing safety sandals

Met him at a bouldering crag in Sydney, dude's strong as hell

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I found him through friendlyjordies where he was inspired to create the illegal home security system, the testing portion had me crylaughing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8sj7uxLg88

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hadn't seen this one, thx

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seems people are just discovering him, second thing of his I've seen on here in the last week. Also, he makes a lot of dangerous shit, and is always barefoot, at all times.

8 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Aussie OSHA adores him!

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, the police was called on him at least once, if nothing else!

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also Boyboy, him and his friend Alex doing stuff together.

Alexa, not Alex :)

They are quickly becoming actual journalists worth following which is honestly hilarious.

8 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I LOVE their documentary vids they put out.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It cuts pizza, the box and a bit of the table, but pizza is definitely cut.

8 months ago | Likes 303 Dislikes 1

Unlike European pizza, which is uncut.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a bit of a dick joke in there, I can feel it.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More than a bit

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And when you want to remotely slice a big pizza:

8 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Combine that with a hyperdrive-equipped missile a la the Holdo Maneuver and you can dice up capital ships with weapons that are far cheaper than their targets.

Or at least you *should* be able to, as that's an implied consequence of what "ramming something at lightspeed" apparently does, according to that scene.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

if you are going to kill everyone in the car, why not just blow it up? seems like expensives would have a better kill likelihood

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because you want to avoid killing anyone outside the car?

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No explosion is the point, limiting collateral damage.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just shocked they care enough when international guided missle assassination is the goal

I'm a fan of the Pizza Bat'leth:

8 months ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 1

Wrong curve direction. A Bat'leth is concave not convex.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That’s much nicer than ours, but the end result is the same

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's definitely the superior sort of pizza slicer. Unless it's being wielded by some stupid fucking muppet that thinks you just press it straight down onto the pizza.

8 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Fuck yes. I want a pizza Bat’leth!!

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that may actually be a legitimately made pizza slicer, the only difference between that and the one I used at work was the blade was a little longer and not quite as tall, and the handles came out from a rise in the blade, but it is quite similar

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are called "mezzaluna". They come in many styles and sizes but they all have their namesake: a curved, half-moon blade.
