Hey guys,
I just want to know your opinion on this matter.
I was in hospital for a laparoscopic surgery which at admittance did not perform covid pcr test on anyone. The next day I was sent home without complications. I was on sick leave for the week and left the flat rarely (I went to a restaurant once). On Day 8 I went to my surgeon to remove the stitches. I also helped move 100 kilos of dog food to a shelter on that same day. A few hours later at night I got a fever of 39 degrees and couldn't sleep a bit. The next day I called my GP and he ordered covid pcr test and self quarantined. On Day 13 I lost my patience and paid for a private pcr test (evaluated at an accredited lab). On Day 14 it came back negative. On Day 15 I finally got called in for the GP mandated pcr and it came back positive on Day 17. Unfortunately I did not receive the result until Day 22. I immediately asked for a new pcr, antigen and antibody test. Everything came back negative except for the IgG was was positive. It was a rapid test (iCHROMA). The result was 1.4 and it is considered positive between 1.1 and 200.
I know that rapid tests are not exactly reliable and I am not even sure now if the positive pcr was real.
I had no other symptom except the fever. I thought it was due to the exhaustion of moving 100 kilos 1 week after my surgery.
False positive pcr is usually due to cross-contamination as I learned from microbiologists.
I always wear masks.
I am just interested in your opinion. Thanks.

The infectiosness. It can be true, that the one PCR test was positive and the other negative. Not sure about the timeframe though.

Thanks. Yep, my concerns exactly. 5 days after symptoms negative and then positive 2 days later. Weird. Made me think about false positivity
