I started working last year and been living in a small appartment in a city I used to study. Now im moving for a job and I want to get an appartment that atleast makes me feel like I am not a sardine in a tincan. I used to live in a 17 square meter with kitchen in the room. Now all I can find is lots of roommates or everything is too expensive. I have been struggling sleeping and can't focus on work cause im obsessily checking websites and refreshing emails.
Now I finally found something and it turned out to be a dissapointment.
I am not asking for much, just a private studio close to the centre. Why is the housemarket so shit that I can't even find any place suitable.
I guess I kinda wanted to yell into the void about this, cause I just feel at my witsend.
The artwork isnt mine its from @titsay on twitter. It's what I tell myself when my anxiety is spiking at the thought of not finding a place on time. Also they has some really funny and wholesome art, you should check them out.

I have had two Dutch friends looking for flats in the Netherlands in the last year and it really is hell there right now. I feel for you.

Thank you! Yeah, if i was able to look with a partner, it wouldnt be so bad maybe (probably still really hard).

one of them had to resort to renting to buy from her parents, she had to move home after her former place kicked her out more or less.

She's well aware of how lucky she is that they can afford that, but also, it's part of the problem, she just couldn't live with them anymore
