If this was a romcon or hallmark movie he'd end up dating/married to the judge, prosecutor or the cop. After he turned his life around and started a Christmas tree farm of course. As a front for his growing operation.
Ngl this is the first time I've seen context for this, and up until now I always though thick was being used in the "mentally thick, stupid" way and this revelation changes things drastically.
Judge: And, was she thicc as a bowl of oatmeal? Prosecutor: Judge, if she were any more thicc, she would be down with the thiccness....oh, wah ahh ahh ahh. Judge: Case dismissed
Has hitting on thick women been a problem in the past. I’m gonna run for governor on the platform of pardoning all convicts serving time simply for hitting of thick women
tbh I'd say sellers should go to prison if they're operating in a place where it's legal. people should be getting a safe consistent product when possible not shady weed.
Yeah, don't drive cross country with California plates and 1/2 ounce of weed. Guaranteed to get pulled over, your money taken away, and ten years in the slammer.
Enrique cruz. There was an episode of lockup about him. He is exceptionally violent, and claims to be an enforcer in one of the major gangs (bloods if memory serves). He has assaulted multiple inmates and guards in his many years behind bars. Even the other prisoners don't like him because they think he might not actually be part of the gang and is just fronting, which flying false colors is a major no no in gang life...
Odd that you defended him without any knowledge of this
He *very* much is a bad person and this shit ain't funny. Every time this pops up on imgur all everyone can see is the marijuana charge but the dude also had charges for assault, sexual assault, burglary, distribution to minors, and repeat offenses for everything.
Iirc the defense had argued that he was pressured into several of the sales; the pickup line was quoted to show that he felt comfortable with the undercover cop.
He was already found guilty, this is before sentencing. He tried to argue that he was a good person who got caught up with bad things while younger. She read off a list of charges and details he's raked in over the past decade or so. His reaction shows how much he's "grown" since being arrested...
Reminds me of a "sting" operation where they sent a hottie to go undercover at a highschool, black guy got a crush, she was "just doing her job" looking for marijuana sellers, saying she just wants to get weed, so he tries to impress her by getting some weed for her: she arrested him and got him expelled, ruining the rest of his life, for doing something he only did because she led him on.
Entrapment is when the police induce someone to commit a crime they wouldn't have committed under ordinary circumstances. There is no need for the police to have identified themselves
I thought it was more like whether you know if they're a cop or not, if it comes out that they ARE a cop and convinced you to or forced you to commit a crime then arrested you, it's entrapment. This seems more like instead of her saying "You need to go buy me or get me some weed", she just kept sayin' "I don't know, maybe if we had some weed or something" and he was like "Ah, yeah, I getcha." and went and did it himself.
"Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" a quote attributed to Henry II of England, preceding the murder of the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170.
Seems to be textbook entrapment. Had dudebro had a competent lawyer (realistically, had he been able *to afford*...), it probably would have been successfully defended.
Probably honestly comes down to the fact that he was black.
just trying to discredit his character in order to pad his sentencing. Playing into gender roles is regular prosecutor tactic, especially when they work with the same few judges all the time and figure out the judges' personal hang-ups. source: i have no fuking clue what I'm talking about.
You had me squinting and sayin' "huh?" at "pad his sentencing". Even if you were genuine, I'd have just written it off as American law being bizarre, as usual.
you may have no clue what you're talking about, but that's the same stuff that every court attorney talks about how court cases actually are like. Hell, even my attorney for my SSI claim talks about certain judges and which ones are better to get and what to do and say based on which one you get. Attorneys will employ theatrics a lot of the time to 1: keep the jury interested and paying attention to what they want and 2: swaying the sentencing opinion of the judge.
DA's should have to make their arguments blind to the judges identity or facial features. For criminal cases, the judge probably shouldn't be able to see the defendants either, unless it pertains to the case. But who the hell am I, right?
Because I know nothing about that prosecutor, the arguments or details of the case, or the judge. I just distrust everything and only pay attention to motives, which is almost always money. That seems like the best way for a prosecutor to pad their statistics and move up the ladder
Everything you said can be easily observed in the legal systems. Discrediting character happens all the time. Custody disputes always favor the wife and judges totally play favorites.

Entrapment is if they KNOW you're a cop and the cop tells you to do something illegal... it really IS scummy though.
