5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where do you live out of curiosity?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

EU- ?? czech republic. Seeing all those posts about US healthcare, loans, costs of living... i feel kinda blessed.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm getting there, about 2/3rds of the way done.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Can tell by the colour and studyink written in the corner. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. I check IRD way too much.

5 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I give kudos to the way IR have created an easy to use UI! So many other departments are an absolute nightmare.

My husbands just paid his off and I’ve still got like 10k. His degree? Medicine. Mine? Anthropolgy. Choose wisely children.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Just to make sure, that's not from consolidating, that's from all the way paying it off? - Student loan debt collector.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

No need to consolidate in NZ. There’s no interest.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love your username!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP How good is that feeling. I finished mine 2weeks ago! No sweeter feeling than changing that tax code from MSL to M.sweet relief

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No avocado toast.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

hah

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't know who needs to hear this, but this is what it looks like when you can finally start thinking about having kids. Not any sooner.

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 5

Sadly That just does not compute with the female’s biological clock. (Age 35 being when all the risks for pbms goes way up)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Haha funny. In the UK that places most people into their 60s

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I can only give the American perspective. If I had more than 140 characters I would have specified that. Good call though.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Makes sense. Not actually sure how US student loans work :( guessing they're lower but you gotta pay off bigger chunks each month?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Psshh

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So... just after graduation in France! LET’S FUCK!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why the FUCK would someone want to have kids in this world?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Because of Biology

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Crap! Took me well into my 40’s...

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

To pay off the debt or to have kids.....or to think about having kids? Because I've made the mistake of thinking about it and I'm only 29.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That doesn’t make any sense.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sure it does. If you can't afford your debt, then you can't afford children. Obtain financial stability first.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Affording a debt isn’t the same as being able to pay it off in a day.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I didn't think I needed to get technical with this but yes, you can pocket the money to keep your loan active for credit purposes. That's ok

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know keeping the loan active increases your credit score, but you still want to save up enough where you can pay it off if needed.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Other countries: the last loan you ever want to pay down are the student loan. If you die it gets erased and the interest are insignificant

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I have 1,8% now of interest fee. You can also postpone payments if you lose your job and restart it once you get your life back on track.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I remember I called to request a pause in student loan payments. I don't remember how it went, only that it's not a happy memory.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When we needed that my husband was told we get x-months for the life of the loan. I think it was 10 months total out of 20-30 years

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't know what country you are from but all debts are erased in America upon death. What crappy country doesn't erase the debt after death?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

House loans for one are not. They continue to the one that gets the house. That's one reason you try to pay down those first.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is funny, you mean to tell me other countries forgives mortgages upon death? The debt is not even obligated by the family members.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's simple, if the family members want to keep the house, they continue the obligation to the loan. If not, then bank takes back the house.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, naturally. But that loan is more important to pay down before the student loan. That was my idea from the start.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Belgium: what are student loans?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You still need money to sustain yourself through the semesters. You don't live and eat for free do you?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1/ In France if your parents earn under a certain amount you don't pay tuition (which are low to begin with) and you get money from the

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

that's what parents are for.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Lucky if you have parents that live the same place as the university. If I lived at mine I had to travel 400km each way to study and sleep.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Belgium, we're never more than 2 hours away from anything ;-)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/ gouvernement.. Its sometimes not enough, but you can work and i dont know many people who had to take out loans

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We pay around 50$in student fee each semester, around 100-300$ for the books, and living cost food/apartment 1000$ a month. 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The student loan covers that, so you can 100% focus to study. Apartment prices can varies depending what city you study in. Norway btw.
