Volume = TT R^2 x H .... One looks slightly wider.

300mL at the price of 325?

Fun size candy is so small you can fucking snort it now.

I mean...

Looks like two different cans, probably sold in different places for different prices. My WD40 is 250 ml so the can on the right is accurate

Taco Bell party pack is up $5.

Corporate math: Bigger can + smaller contents = premium pricing. Inflation's newest magic trick - making less feel like more while charging extra for the illusion.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Perhaps they use the same size cannisters but don't fill the 275ml one up all the way to the brim.

False comparison. It's 25ml more than the 250.can. That's like complaining that 3 cups of ice cream claiming to be 50% more than a pint isn'

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

t as big as a quart

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

275ml extra in comparison to the 250ml bottle...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+25ml is still true. +25ml profit in their purse…

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

I was curious. I'm always skeptical about things like this. That makes sense. I would guess the right can is older than the left.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The canister might be the same, but the amount filled could be greater?

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

My thoughts exactly. Maybe they changed something inside the can, making more room? Ive never seen the inside of those, so...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

misleading pic is misleading

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

*laughs in American, where the way we handle math says we'd believe this, and insult anyone who didn't agree*

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Double-plus good, eh

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I mean, you have to look at price as well. If the can on the right sells for the same as a 250 ml can, then this is fine

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Both cans are 300ml. The can on the right is priced at the 275ml price, but as a promo, they added 25ml for free. There, solved it.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Priced at 250ml price but in a 300ml sized can (with some space in it)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe they added 25 ml to 250 ml priced product, but they had to use a 300 ml volume can to make it actually fit.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Exactly. I've just been called a moron for suggesting this because they won't tool a new 275ml can for manufacturing

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe…show us the cost of both items?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But then how would we get that precious self-righteous outrage?!?! /s

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe the service offering sequence was the 250 1st then the 300 released as standard? I can't find info about it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can't read the full label, 25 ml more than what? There are so many different sizes of WD40 cans.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

it apparently comes in gallon cans.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

275mL au lieu de (instead of) 250mL

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Shrinkflation

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

yeah, looks shady. maybe the difference is one has less propellant leaving room for more nut juice.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Hey honey…pass me the cam of nut juice

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or maybe 275 plus 25 is 300 if you bothered to read the cans...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

Yeah, read the can. "Jetzt mit 275ml statt 250ml" Now with 275ml instead of 250ml

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You cant fit 275ml in a 250ml can so they use the next size up, the 300ml. They arent gonna spend the money for tooling for a new sized can.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's the same size... 300ml. 275+25= 300 It doesn't say "250". Where did you get that extra zero from?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not 275+25. It's 250+25. First off the can label gives the actual size - 275, second, the label says 250+25

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You are a complete moron, and the marketing team is happy that you think like this.

To me the most baffling part of this is the holster for the smaller can

What u gon have that big can dangling and jangling in your holster c'mon now. Be real.

That's a visual representation of a form of inflation. Going to see a lot of that in the coming years. Important to compare unit costs

4 years ago | Likes 512 Dislikes 4

Recipe changes as well. things will never taste the same. (Foil lined Corn pops)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this is an old picture. this has literally been happening the entire time.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also IIRC these changes are not included in inflation calculations as it's a different package. Saw shaving cream go up 25% overnight

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Actual real inflation is probably in the mid-high teens and has been for years. Comparing milk, eggs and bread doesn't tell the real story

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Marketing semantics. +25 Extra! Compared to what? It’s like saying “low fat” or “half the sugar!”….of what?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+25ml more than the 250ml can. It says it on the label

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... in the coming years? I work retail and see this all the time. It's been happening constantly, forever. Though certainly more, recently.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It for sure has been ongoing problem. No doubt. But all the lost profits last couple years are going to put it into overdrive.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my state, all prices are displayed alongside $.XX per ounce. "Family Size" is often more expensive.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Same in Australia, but it's a worthless for uncovering shrinkflation if you don't have the old packaging to compare to.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Family sizes were the original sizes, since rebranded after the smaller ones were released and established.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The duct tape rolls are smaller and the bailing wire is shorter. How the heck am I supposed to fix anything around here?

4 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait! Bailing wire isn't on my flowchart.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I grew up on a farm in Indiana. I can assure you, it should be on the chart. (chart is awesome, btw).

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It’s a split from the duct tape side

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Basically it's a "does it need to move" question. Bailing wire works better on car doors but duct tape works better on side mirrors.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Last time this was posted, someone pointed out that this sku was normally a 250ml can

2) it might be the 250ml can its extra to, but then they could be not selling the 300ml anymore. or after this they'll raise the price of

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

having a container with "extra!" still is common when a company wants to fiddle with how much they want to charge per oz/lb/whatever

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3) the 250ml can while replacing the design of it with a slightly different looking can to further confuse the consumer.

Probably on the other side, but the person might have been familiar with the wd-40 can sizes of this market. These cans look like they may >

be from different markets from each other. Maybe they sell 250ml in france and 300ml in >>

Germany, so a 250ml can with 25ml "free" seems comical when a neighboring market sells them in 300ml cans by default. //
