I watched this too, I don't remember it very well though, didn't he end up in the army? Or living alone? Either way, really sad :(
shrivelledjohnson
I was glad when he said he didn't want to be filmed anymore. Seemed like he was deciding to take some control of his life.
BluebellsandGooseberries
I seem to remember he was coding on a computer in Florida (back before when it was quite normal)

No, but I watched the entire thing anyways. I'm a sucker for documentaries.
trollprozac
Russia should really invade and fix this.
QuintusTulliusCicero
If we throw enough cruise missiles at the problem it's bound to go away eventually...
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
Before I had my son, this sort of stuff made me sad. Now it's like it physically hurts to read. We have a plan for him though, should we die
lnfidelity
should you die... Then what? I need to know the rest of the plan. D:
TallWall
Thank you for taking care of him.

My grandfather told me that his bucket list was complete when I turned 5. He had lots of heart complications and just wanted to live long
flight815down
enough that my cousins and I would never forget him.
aGirlWithoutAname
Agreed ^^^ youre views on a lot change draditcally...somehow youre all of a sudden afraid to die and worse if your baby does. Especially
aGirlWithoutAname
While (s)he is in the womb then they come out and you become some sort of ninja body guard.

If Judith dies before Allen and then Allen dies, give custody to Charlie. NOT to your mom.
HubCapDiamondStarHalo
yes good for you. Please keep that plan up to date, and fresh. Not obsess, but so it isn't forgotten or circumvented.
kmikl
THIS. For the love of your son, talk with your POA and Lawyer.
goforchristinam
As a soon to be insurance agent, I really, really hope the includes a Life Insurance Policy. You have no idea how much that helps.
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
We both have life insurance through the Army thank goodness.
goforchristinam
My cousin passed away at 24, leaving behind 2 kids w/ not much planned. Aunt had to sell her home to help, while grieving for her son.
Koradril
As a finance professional, upvotes for you. Too many people try to unwind tragedy after the fact, rather than plan for the possibility.
aramil31
Did you hire a butler and purchase a large mansion with an extensive cave system underneath it? And are you going to the theater soon?

Oh wow that was too perfect. Also, you're very pretty, you guys look like an awesome couple. And that kid nailed the 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'
Smayds
Ahhhh, NOW I remember you!
gadgetneo
Christ! I read that as a question...like: "We have a plan for him though, should we die?" I was confused. NO! NO you should NOT die!
Curiousone545
All part.. of the plan.. :' (
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
Husband needed one for when he deploys what to do should he be killed, I made one with him.
danigirl8807
I sincerely hope from the depths of my heart that neither of you ever have to put your plans into action.
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
Me too, but he's got his 2nd deployment sometime soon, so....fingers crossed :/
MatrimBloodyCauthon
My fingers crossed too!
danigirl8807
I've got a little boy too and if I go, his living conditions will be shit. I live just for him. Fingers crossed for y'all too.
SteppingInsideOutOfMyself
Good for you. It's necessary and far too many people don't prepare. My parents didn't :(
MaximumSausage
I'm the eldest by 10 years. My parents made arrangements to leave my brothers in my care should they die. I don't like to think about it.
idontdocreativeusernames
Oldest by nine years. Obviously a terrible thought but I wouldn't want my brother with anyone else
TheDarkPotato
Sorry bruh
SteppingInsideOutOfMyself
Thanks. It worked out, but it took years and I don't talk to my Aunt and Uncle anymore. Thieves

Ikillmiceforaliving
seriously interested in what kind of plan
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
We both have life insurance through the Army (sad, but get even more if he's killed in combat) and who would get our son as well.
Ikillmiceforaliving
that is good.
Ikillmiceforaliving
but I was thinking about the emotional part
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
Yeah, he's 3.5, so that will be awful. He grew up with my sister as nearly a 2nd mom before we moved, so hopefully that would help.
Ikillmiceforaliving
hmmm. always the worst part is who to give the child to, if something happens to you.
gleebetty
The Indonesian sweater factory?
madeaccountcancomment
As an Indonesian I'm offended. My cousin who earns 30 cent in the Nike factory will not be amused.
bigfootproph2
And you are on the Internet while she does this.
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
As cool a skill as being able to make low-cost merchandise would be, nope. He would go live with my sister.
jidery
What if your sister dies? Ever think about that?
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
Fortunately my family all lives in the same town, so he will be well cared for.
justorderalargefarva
It's good you have a plan. I wouldn't trust my sister to raise my kids if something happened to me.
SomethingSomethingTraLaLa
She just had her first son, but at the time it was only her and her husband who adore my son and have a stable income and lifestyle.

AT ATs are a classic. The AT STs are nippy, but the new AT PT is way more plush and personal.

Wow. Each increment he got progressively more sad. Heartbreaking. Particularly that his grandmother couldn't afford to raise him.
franklymydearidontgiveadamnaboutmakingyoursammich
I wish the pictures showed that the reporter isn't just asking himself about his family twice in a row like he's stupid.
comyou
That is genuinely heartbreaking.

I will watch this later. I can't go on a trip to Feelsville while at work, and this looks like I'll be there awhile.

the video starts where the photos start. It's just separated (unlike the photos)
84hsp
It's actually split up. The 1st part is just after this video clip starts. A few moments later, the 2nd part of the interview begins.

I wish. I really do.
klughless
I lost it so hard at this part: "Where's your brother now?" "He died, just like the rest of them."
84hsp
The part about the dream is especially heart-wrenching.
KingGambitB
I would have so many damn issues if I lived that kid's life... getting sent back to the orphanage by his adoption parents... dayam.
84hsp
I know. And he does end up with attachment issues - not a doctor here, but he remains disconnected from people. It's really sad.
ThatChickWho
Ok, that was heartbreaking. His first adoptive family gave him up? God damn. Poor guy :(
embiggenator
Yeah...that's incredibly selfish. I don't understand how people can do things like that to people who depend on them.
ParaBailarLaBamba
A cousin of mine did this... she didn´t think the girl ¨adapted¨ to her family

Documentary on russia and its satellite cold war countries. They kept up with the kids at 7, 14, 21, and 28. Try "Born in the Ussr"

schizznatt
They did a similar doc series in South Africa, following all different races of kids at 7, 14, 21, 28 years old starting in 1992... 1/2
salamanderranger
And I think they both stemmed from UK Up, originally done in..well the UK haha such a cool idea!
schizznatt
.. two years before Apartheid ended. Really interesting to see how they grow and change during this period. Also really sad.
Glumerlink
and how they disappeared i bet...
stardame
Do you know how the little boy is doing now? :( I hope he has a new family deserving of him.
salamanderranger
I think he ended up doing alright. I saw the 7, 14, and 21 episodes. All the kids at least improved their conditions
stardame
Thank you! I'm definitely not strong enough to watch the documentary. Looking at him is heart-wrenching as it is! I'm glad he's better. :)
whatactuallyhappened
I think I saw something in one of his last interviews about how he doesn't like this project anymore or something
ecloco
I keep up with this as I'm the same age as them. This guy is living in the US now, I think he's a computer programmer or something.
opad
I'm in the US. I want to go hug him.
