Beautiful but the stuff of nightmares for imgurians who write "I tripped on the stairs today".

#1 i'm suddenly horny for this staircase.....

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I would take a dump down these stairs too.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#6 #7 #16 When you're a supervillian but your day job is interior design.

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there! He wasn't there again today, Oh how I wish he'd go away!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now most of these are just damn impractical.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trippy.

"MY ONE WEAKNESS!"

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some are fancy, some innovative, some save space (like the spiral staircases) but wtf is up with #6 & #16 ?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of these are super awesome, others...pray you’re not drunk near them.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone notice in #16 you don't step on the angles, it's taken from the top of the stairs. My stupid ass thought it was the other way.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I noticed it too after a moment, though frankly I'm not sure if it's an improvement.

#6, #7, and #16 were made just to fuck with people coming home drunk.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I'd fuck up on them while sober.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

For some of these I’m thinking “cool” but for others you coulda just made some fucking stairs these are way to complicated to be practical

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of those are frankly unnerving

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the stairs I made in my cabin

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Oh good, maybe you can explain to us why you would make them this way. I mean, seriously, I'm hoping there's a reason beyond "aesthetic."

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They appear to save a lot of space.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I only had about 4’ for the run of the steps. It’s like a ladder but the cutout keeps you from banging your shins and you have a full step.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So every now and again there IS a reason, good. Personally, I would have installed more handrail though.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

final destination all over this

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

#9 is the Da Vinci designed double helix staircase at Chateau de Chambord in France if I'm not mistaken.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was going to ask about that. Usually spiral staircases go the other direction, at least in edifices that can be used for defense

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Double helix?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You're not.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What makes it a double helix though? It looks single to me.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has 2 entrances and they twine around each other. You won't meet someone who uses the other entrance.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But in the picture there doesn't seem to be enough physical space for two separate stairways to circle each other.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 georgia o'keefe's house?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Some of those went a step too far

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This post is on another level.

5 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

It has it's ups and downs

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Let's just take it one step at a time

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

But still a step in the right direction ...

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That would be a step in the right direction.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Onward and upward

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

These treads are great. Certainly a riser above the rest.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gods forbid you go down any of these drunk.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If anything I'd think you'd go down them much easier while drunk. Your status on arrival may be questionable, however.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone else have an M. C. Escher moment with #4?

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Briefly, but not as bad as you get in the Knowlton School of Architecture.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I thought it was a very stretched series of platform-like stairs until I saw the people and realized it was a top-down view.

Alternate title: How to fuckin die while drunk

Alternate title: Why architects should be vigorously beaten on a regular basis.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Beat me to it

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And make it look like an accident

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My shins hurt just looking at them.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was gonna say, some of those are looking to ruin your day

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd die sober on some of them

5 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

I was just thinking that! Pretty neat collection of stairs, though

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#16 would kill many people wearing just socks

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I believe that's a top-down view. Not sure if that makes it better or worse, but socks wouldn't slide at least...

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's just as bad, tbh. You go from sliding to your feet expecting to find purchase and not, because of some idiot designer. There's a reason

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

unevenly spaced stairs cause people to trip.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that is a vagina

5 years ago | Likes 269 Dislikes 7

Everything can be a vagina if you're brave enough

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also some look renderized

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sigh *unzips*

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I still can't find the clitoris

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

The landing on the main floor. Look closer.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wonder how many have jump in.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally like throwing a hotdog down a hallway.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

I'm into that

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hotdog down a stairwell?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If Georgia O'Keefe were an architect.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I ever have to nose dive down the the middle of a stairwell this is going to be the one.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP’s mom’s, I do believe.

5 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Well, many men have gone down there

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I can just imagine all the men standing at the top of the ledge, jerking it to a balustrade.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HEY GUYS IT'S A VAGINA

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With teeth.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Vagina dentataaaaaa!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually a vulva, to be correct.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Actually stairs

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But you said it was a vagina so which is it to be?
