My pinni.made up on the spot for my first security door at an office and it has been the same since. Same with my 26 character password I invented in the spot for my file server
My mother got mad at me for using a 6 digit PIN, because in an emergency I wouldn't be able to quickly enter it backwards into the ATM to send a silent alarm, and therefore it was less safe than a 4 digit PIN. The backwards number isn't even a thing, how would that work for people with palindrome PINs, and I'm pretty sure I can invert a 6 digit number in my head just as easily.
Now people will start using the least common pins, rendering them common. If I were a hacker, I would add this list to my tool bag. Safety is being a needle in a stack of needles.
I'm still not clear why it matters, if the system locks you out after a couple wrong guesses, then you only really need something that won't be the first guess like 1234 or 1111. And most people are getting them through phishing attempts where they just get you to tell them.
DataGenetics, who made the heatmap, explained it like this: "The lighter areas corresponding to couplets of numbers that are close to each other. For some reason, people don't like to select pairs of numbers that have larger numerical gaps between them. Combinations like 45 and 67 occur much more frequently than things like 29 and 37 "
I had not thought this format of people filming themselves talking about what's behind them that you can't really see correctly had an even worse development.. oh my.
I've read that apparently the videos get significantly more views if they stick their floating head in the frame like that. People want to see the person talking, I guess.
Reactions in a nutshell then. I always preferred streams where you don't see the person in the corner. I really like giving a mental image to the voice instead.
So that's why it doesn't let you repeat it and knows when you try to same one again. PINs fascinate me because yours most likely is shared with a bunch of other people by chance.
I think you can go ahead and drop the "most likely". There is 10,000 possible pin numbers, you share your pin number with at least one million people. If its repeating digits you probably share it with 50 million people.
Fun fact: SCUBA is an acronym for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus Another fun fact: TUBA is also an acronym. It stands for Terrible Underwater Breathing Apparatus!
Most of their examples are good. But potentially, DC comics is not. Detective Comics is the brand name, so referring specifically to their comic books sounds redundant but really isn't. "I prefer to read DC comics," for instance.
It sounds weird to say, "DC Comics' best films are from the Batman franchise" instead of just, "DC's best films are from the Batman franchise."

Every time I see this I wonder why the black spots are where they are.

I cannot watch any video that keeps saying "PIN Numbers", especially if I have to look at a chart the whole time that says "PIN Numbers".

They should really colour it differently. Darker for more common would be more obvious.

Looks like my Pin of 6935 is pretty safe. No wait.

It makes it feel more personal. And it kind of serves as a slight barrier in the "is this AI" category

That's so insane to me, because I feel like I prefer when I can't see the person explaining whatever.

Means more effort, that someone cared, its not AI, and they're probably trustworthy if they're staking their reputation on something.
