A teacher at my highschool made you take a car tire

Hall pass... what a strange thing

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

#8 what the fuck does that even mean

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

There is only 2 places that you ask to go to the restroom, school and prison.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At my highschool, the only teachers who actually cared about hall passes were the ones with lots of ghetto kids in their class.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good thing for teachers tenure

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Umm... i bet mrs bishops hall pass has seen some stuff

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is your russian teacher small and racoon like

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Australia, our teachers just trusted that we needed to go to the toilet and we didn't need a pass.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

We didn't even need to ask in some classes. Like someone would leave in the middle of class with his schoolbag.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never needed a pass either and I'm in America.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

White privilege!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad to be an European with teachers who couldn't care less if we wanted to be in class and invited anyone to leave if they were disturbing

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I remember more than one occasion when the teacher was struggling to get the little shits out of the classroom for disturbing.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly, going to class is a privilege. Leaving / being thrown out was a punishment for misbehaving. It seems completely backwards

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In America, we have second class citizens who would ditch school if given the chance. The state decided this should be against the law.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"No child left behind."

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So does Mrs. Bishop ( #9 ) know boys are jacking off to that huge blowup of her face in the bathroom stall?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'd sooner shit myself then need to drag those things around just to perform bodily functions.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Would bang Ms.Bishop

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My school gave everyone a planner that had spots to fill out for hall passes, the fuck is all this shit.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This happened in my high school because people kept stealing the little ones. Part of me wants to be a teacher to shit like this. Hahaha +1

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

I'm pretty sure teachers don't have to shit like this, they're free to go as they please.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why do you have hall passes?!? We go to the bathroom just as we please in Sweden

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*Eye twitches* I remember this shit... I still have nightmares of this kind of shit from teachers who acted like glorified babysitters.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You go from not being trusted to go pee to decide what to do with the rest of your life in 3 months. America.

It's a rookie mistake leaving your backpack behind. They'd know after class ended that you skipped.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you might say...you're not trusted to go pee, because you might be skipping.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

That's..a bit of a stretch, but alright. It's more like these two things line up. A hall pass is used for a lot more than just bathroom.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's it to them? It's your own bloody fault if you skip class. As long as you're not causing a disturbance, security shouldn't interfere.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

But isn't that EXACTLY what this is about? It's to your own detriment to skip class, whether in high school, or 3 months later, college.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...FUCK YEAH! Coming again to save the motherfucking day yeah!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

My British Lit teacher in HS made us use his SCA kite shield as a hall pass. His logic was if you were willing to drag that, you really 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

had to go, and weren't just going to faff around. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's pretty shitty of him.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit if that were the case I'd be doing nothing but faffing around with it! c;

9 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 2

When did a butternut pumpkin become a fkn "squash"??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Perhaps different countries or regions within the same country have other names for things!

To be fair, I've never known anyone to keep raw, whole squash(es?) around the house as a staple.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone I know has squash around if they're into cooking real meals.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, cooking real, homemade meals isn't the norm for a lot of people.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Australian here, what the fuck is a squash?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We call them butternut pumpkins

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No idea why they call them that. Slice one open and then do same to a Jap pumpkin, and whaddya see? Two fucking PUMPKINS.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

When squash became an obscure sport.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In America, every vegetable is obscure.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

According to Congress, though, pizza is a vegetable.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Is mayonnaise, a vegetable?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fair.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Squash is a fruit. (So are pumpkins, cucumbers, green beans, etc.)

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Knowledge is knowing that tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing to keep it to yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, but something can be a fruit and also a vegetable. Fruit is a botanical term, vegetable is an almost purely culinary distinction.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yup. If it contains seeds within its fleshy bits, it is technically a fruit. Though we typically divide them baste on taste.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

I dunno who's downvoting you, you're correct

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Idiots don't like truth.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A butternut squash at that. Something sold at Walmart year-round.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

A really sweet vegetable too. Too sweet for my blood sugar. :( Acorn squash are safe though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What does "extra" mean in the context used in #8?

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Awesome

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Overkill basically

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Over the top or dramatic.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Opposite of the urban usage of "basic" as in "She's so basic" [plain; retarded]. Extra used in this context as a synonym [special retarded].

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My 7th grade science teacher had a mummified cat as a hall pass...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*nope* Nope. NOPE.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Big silly ones are fine but why make the ones that shame your students for having to use the bathroom? Power trip? Adult bullying?

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 5

Bit of an overreaction don't you think?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My teacher had a bottle of lotion as a hall pass. That lasted for about 2 days before the principal put a stop to it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wait, I must've missed something, which ones did that? The diarrhea and poop ones were clearly just joking around.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

#7 I guess? Even the ones that are "joking" are meant to embarrass students so they don't go, having to tell everyone they need to poop.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The bathroom is the only place you're going 99% of the time & the poop emoji is so popular with kids it comes in pillow form.

As someone with stomach issues, fuck that "frivolous errand" one. Going somewhere so you dont shit all over yourself isnt frivolous.

9 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 6

I'd shit on the sign

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a joke, stop being so triggered.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know its a joke im not triggered, just reminds me of HS and it is an issue that sucks

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is it an issue, though? They're still allowed to go if needed, and it's a little joke for them to laugh at.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Who knows, its just a photo with no backstory. In a lot of cases though kids are forced to hold it and its not healthy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, but you're complaining about what a hall pass says. If there's a hall pass and it's being given, who cares what it says?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having missed the entire 1st quarter hospitalized , teachers were warned in HS not to question. Kidney diseases, so I had to pee... A LOT!!

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Have they gotten any better since high school?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, they levels out then relapsed then leveled it again. Now to the point where I just have to be cautious with what I eat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's good to hear!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, even a humerous toilet pass can and will offend someone.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I think it's implied that when the teacher has to send a student to go do something for them, that it's a frivolous errand.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Shitting isn't really an errand, frivolous or not.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Im sure its a joke in this case but honestly its a serious issue in HS with teachers thinking bathroom breaks are not needed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't think it's that big a deal, really. It's a simple little joke that doesn't stop anyone from taking care of their business.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 13

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have had teachers that would hear someone say this, cackle and suggest you must not really have to go

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 1

Had that happen once in class to a friend (teacher was a sub that day) the rr was literally 2 doors down and when the sub finally let her /1

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

This story is confusing in context. So your friend refused to use the designated hall pass or wasn't allowed to go at all?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing she wasn't allowed to go because she refused to use the hall pass

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I apologize for the confustion, the sub wouldn't let her leave until too late so by the time my friend was allowed to use the rr she /1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

couldn't hold it anymore and peed her pants.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

go my friend ended up peeling her pants right in the classroom doorway. Friend got to go home. The entire class hated that sub from then on

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Was she physically restrained / blocked or why would she not leave if she really had to go? I'm curious

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If the teacher says "no" and you disobey you're going to get in trouble. Simple.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

it is also super illegal here :O

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I don't understand why the teachers make their hall passes ridiculous... it's not like the kids can go between classes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My school had walking time, but lessons usually started 5-10 mins late anyway because the buildings were spaced far out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With some you do have enough time, if the school is small enough and you don't need to stop at your locker every time, but rarely the case.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, when I was in public school, we had 4 minutes to get from one class to the other, with locker stops or not.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We had 5 minutes and were not allowed to have a backpack, so had to do locker stops. Thankfully it was a small school.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And we had stupid yellow plastic triangles that looked like oversized Craft Singles as hall passes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had 3 minutes and weren't allowed to have a backpack. Had to plan locker stops between classes that you could make it between.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There it is. The reason for all of this shenanigans. Now I get it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Then someone pisses on their floor and they rethink their bullshit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not to mention that holding in your piss is unhealthy at all. That's how people get fucking infections.

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 6

I think fucking infections come about another way

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Just dont stick it in your butt you will be fine

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Aww man

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually developed kidney problems as a child and still have problems as an adult due to teachers not letting me go to the bathroom.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This happened to me and my dad told me next time to walk over to the teacher and piss in her purse. It worked.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

You pissed in her purse?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

story time!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well they don't have to hold their piss, the pass is available. Holding their piss is on them.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If they can't hold there piss then it's literally on them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they can't hold there piss then it's literally on them

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That might be the point: discourages them from wasting class time on something they could've done during break.

9 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 15

Breaks are not long enough. It's not a waste. In the real world laws ensure you the right to piss or shit whenever you need to

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

I know in my highschool it was a common thing for bathroom passes to go missing. This probably assures they get returmed

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

but our breaks weren't long enough to take a shit...

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

yeah in middle school we had to go all the way across the school during a three minute break. No way you can shit during that time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and you had so many people around you... A high school girl doesn't want to be seen/heard/smelled taking a shit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The worst is there's always shitty girls just hanging out in the restroom just because. I'M HERE TO SHIT, NOT LISTEN TO YOUR WHINING.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I remember from high school, we only had 5 minutes between classes. I was late if I decided to go to the RR

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

My school has 3 minute passing periods (teacher here). I hate them just as much as the students. We have to pee too and we're not allowed (1

9 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 6

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

She was a pretty timid person, she only did it out of pure frustration.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

you dont have have school shooters either...chill

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My Canadian HS thought I would be a school shooter when I got my gun license.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Finland we've had school shooters, but no hall passes. Or armed guards. Or metal detectors. That shit's just weird for schools.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Am I right in saying because of your social welfare system you don't have actual ghettos where there are many violent students? lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not actual ghettos, but each city has their bad areas. We also have a pretty good gun control, despite there being a lot of guns.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, unfortunately it's pretty necessary in the schools that do have them installed. Oh America, we have so much to do and Trump.. ugh..

9 years ago | Likes 232 Dislikes 1

My school was so small that the principal knew as all by name.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

By the looks of this post you can just make your own one from basically anything and write on it

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Are students attending a school or a concentration camp simulator?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Depending on the school & the community it's in, it can seem like the latter. American schools vary widely, though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

School. lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a concentration camp when the students are expected to be in class during class?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right? People got really crazy about this. The pass is more for me as a teacher than anything. It keeps only one kid out at a time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wtf, there are always peoples going everywhere during class hours, just 'less', no one would bother asking for a fucking pass i'm appalled

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here. Something like this would never happen in our school, as all our school 'schedules' have free time in them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck that. If I have an urge, I'll go. In my university, we weren't allowed to go to the bathroom during exams. Did it anyway. Urge is urge.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, okay. But the pass is so you don't get in trouble for leaving, you can still go...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From what I understood, the teacher is at liberty to decide whether you should get the pass or not, no?

But what if one of your teachers is sick or sth, and you don't have to go to class?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Why would school be canceled because a teacher is sick? This is not college, you don't get the day off,you get another teacher.

You get a substitute teacher, usually. There's a pool of them: certified teachers who for whatever reason don't want to teach full time. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The school administration has them on call. Teacher sick? Find a substitute who's available to take over that day. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats a college thing. Grade school would still have to go.

How does the administration know which teacher you have at the moment and what this teacher's designated hall pass is?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

At my school it was for ditching, but mostly vandalism. There was also a log to sign out/back in for each classroom.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Our passes are wooden paddles with the room number spray painted on it. My classroom is 216. If a kid is in the 500s, they're wandering.

The more I hear about the US, the more I don't understand the US.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what if you had a spare? what do then? sit in some designated "spare" room? am canuck, no hall passes, got to roam during spares good times.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What is a spare?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

sounds like study hall ???

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

study hall seems like you are forced to sit in a room but they aren't bothering to teach you anything. it's babysitting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So if you want you can just take six classes for the year and get two spare periods.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spare period. At least in Ontario you need 30 credits to graduate, and can take 8 per year. Meaning in grade twelve you only NEED six.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my HS wasn't semestered, had a yearlong rotating schedule so fit 9 credits / year, and (dating myself) had OAC (grade 13) = so many spares.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems like spare is different in Canada, I thought they were referring to the hours in the middle of the day when you may have no classes(1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because you only had class in the morning and in the afternoon. Not uncommon in Finnish high schools, friends and I used the time to play(2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nope, same as a spare in Canada. in my final year of highschool i hit the lottery and had all my spares in the afternoon. home by lunch.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not everyone does it, and most people who want to go to uni don't because of prerequisites and quirks of GPA, but plenty do.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i went to uni & had 4 spares in my final year of highschool. had all my prerequisites, all the credits. didn't need to take bird courses.

What is an admin?

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It is short for administration. People like the principal or assistant principals. At my school we have security guards who watch the halls

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And then send you to admin if you're in trouble.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is a principal?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like prison

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Security guards?? At fucking school??

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Yeah. We had rent-a-cops and a local PD liason.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

This comment thread is full of "only in the USA" surprises.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You only have to deal with bears if you ditch and go hunting instead. And ye security guards at school, America keeps suprising.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

yeah, nearly every school has a few or cops or something.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not everyone lives in a perfect neighborhood. We have some issues with gangs and drugs being sold on campus. Overall, my kids are awesome..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Security guards = Middle-aged former high school football players who got fat and ride golf carts to catch kids dipping out. It's depressing

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Is ditching class by wandering around in the school a common thing in the US? When I skipped class I went the fuck home, or at least left.

9 years ago | Likes 259 Dislikes 1

Our country isn't small as fuck.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

Europe in total is larger than the USA, it's more appropriate to compare Euro countries with U.S. states.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes, their countries are like our states. We are WAY bigger.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You could be on your way out, gotta walk through the halls to leave. Or you are young or live far away. Anything is better than class.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Are the classes that shit?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A lot of US kids get bused miles from where they live and don't even know how to get home on foot. Never mind bus depot transfer riders.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Students over here are stupid. Lots of them are voting age now...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our school had cameras and I was afraid of getting caught

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not the brightest but yeah that's pretty much what they do here

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well there is a hallway between you and outside. Also some will just be skipping a specific class.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like seriously...I went to shopping malls to stand in front of a game console for 5h

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

From my experience there were people that left but the problem was that they ran the place sealed wellish with cameras and teachers on exits

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's fairly common yeah, and not everyone can leave because most live far away from the school. Those who can drive tend to go home tho

9 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 1

We had busscards. If I got sick I could just take a buss home. And no one cared if a student wandered around the hallways

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are no buses in the suburbs, or very few anyway.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you go under a bridge and smoke weed that's how we use to ditch class.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

At my school, unless you live within like 5 miles (very few people) the only place to go besides wandering is the woods behind the school1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But if they see you going out there or someone snitches they'll send the school cops out after you

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

School cops? That must be a joke right?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What the hell even is the US? School cops?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

i used to sneak into my friends classes until the teacher noticed and kicked me out

9 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

So you skipped by school...by doing different school stuff?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Precisely
