He gets off the ship in the prologue and goes to oet the first dog he sees, he accidently wristblade-assassinated it and we nearly crucified him for it. We yelled at him for about 20 minutes before dispersing.

I absolutely love how many games give you an option to pet or otherwise shower affection upon an animal. Cats in HW legacy, the cat you can get in cyberpunk 2077, etc. Oh and the hidden way you can "pet" Morgana yourself in P5R.

Diablo 4 lets you pet dogs if you use the "Hello" emote while standing near one, and they'll follow you around after while you're still in town. If you use the same emote near cats, they'll stop and roll over on their back. Hell, even Civilization VI has a button for your Scout unit to pet their dog.
