Need to start shooting at ICE instead of just standing around

If not now, when?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All I can think is "the beacons are lit." And cry.

Stop censoring this shit.

The fucking Nazis don’t deserve it.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If it comes down to States versus fed for a second time, this time I'm siding with states.
Fuck the fatrer and his gestapo

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And it’s cold and super icy (the regular kind) right now

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Protests are no longer enough. You need to act and fight for your country Americans!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool, maybe if we actually did this WITH action it would actually change something…

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

So the next step is for a crowd that large to go run ICE the fuck out of town. Shit like this is ACTUALLY riot worthy.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

That is that Clash song I am thinking of?

Kick them all out, these Trump henchmen. Go all on the Street. Overall.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/881793/?utm_source=indivisible for a briefing on this deliberate murder by cop, tomorrow at 8pm EST, Thurs Jan 8.

2 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

not a cop. a murderer cosplaying as law enforcement.

I'm not putting my identifying information into an online form. I don't even want to bring my phone without a Faraday bag.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Just put a false name, like everyone else, Jim Beam.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Need bigger candles.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

BORTLES!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly seems like a matter of time before the powder keg blows and the candles start going bang

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nazis. Fucking Nazis. We allowed this to happen to ourselves. I can’t wait until they start in on MAGA Nazis themselves. I will be so happy to watch Leopards Eating Those Faces.

2 months ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 9

Don't wait, eat their faces yourself

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They already kinda are. Kirk was a major named victim of not being "right enough" despite the fact that his last fucking words on this mortal coil was a god damned racist dog whistle. You cannot make this shit up.

Uh, let’s wait until it’s official

I hope this isn't another "We did it, Reddit!" moment

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean this question honestly and without malice. What do people think this is going to achieve? It hasn't done anything yet. The pressure of a protest only matters if the administration cares about what the people want, and it clearly doesn't. It can't make them concerned about reelection because trump can't be elected again (if he allows elections again). A protest says 'we don't like this', but that is only useful if the person you're telling cares what you think

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

The worst part is when you ask this genuine question people will line up to feel smart about themselves demanding *you* start shit and sacrifice yourself for everyone else's rights.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

The feds aren’t the only government that matters. The city and state see the protests and understand what the people are calling for. Frey said it best: GTFO of Minneapolis.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No one coming together to show that this matters would be worse. What do funerals "acheive"? This is a community member who was murdered. That community has friends, family, classmates, neighbors, colleagues who likely knew her personally. This is a human tragedy. The people gathering are being human.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I think it's more of a vigil than a protest... They're just mourning and trying to cope at this point.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

its pretty obvious that protest alone do jack shit. Need a general strike or an actual armed upraising.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

a single protest may not accomplish much. But we need the second, and the 10th, and the 100th. A protest movement needs to build, it needs to be a consistent pressure in order to have effect. The problem we generally have been having is that we keep stopping at one, than decrying that it solved nothing. Protests are about PRESSURE, and one push cannot force down the wall of establishment. So build the movement, protest continually and often and remember the one is only the start.

All governments, even tyrannical ones, need some popular support to survive. Denouncing this murder can help delegitimize the current government in eyes of its own supporters.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Reminder: Protests like this are happening around the US daily. The US media are actively not reporting on them.

2 months ago | Likes 369 Dislikes 6

And still nothing has gotten better.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

according to whom, the same US media refusing to report on the protests?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please self-report on any platform you have access to. Even if that means creating new accounts to post. People need to know what's happening. The world needs to know. I'm from Poland and I need reliable source of information about current events in the US because I cannot trust the mainstream media. Even the Polish media don't have the full picture.

In Chaska, MN there have been people lined along a major road EVERY Saturday for the past several months

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good! Keep it going, keep it growing. Don’t wait for them to cover; become so big and inconvenient and disruptive that there is no choice.

They don’t want to show it? Fine, fuck them. Make them cover it.

2 months ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

The US media are complicit.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

… yeah … exactly what I’m getting at

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This will change nothing because they will just ignore it.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Except if it would change nothing they wouldn't be afraid to report on it.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it's more or less risk free. And that's what's matter to them. They feel like they do something, but put nothing on the line. It's incredible how afraid they are to actually act

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yea it's so risk free. That's why I've been shot at multiple times by US cops for "peacefully protesting"

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Being part of a large group is easier. You can hide amongst many. You don't have to stand out. The police don't see you as individuals. So yeah. Risk free in all ways this matters when it comes to protests, shouting and filming.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm always part of a group. The cops shoot at us. All 500 of us. Hence why I wear level 4 plates to every protest in a discreet underarmor carrier.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You are not doing enough then to be considered a problem. You will have to become a problem to start a change.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've been shot at by cops for protesting. If we weren't a problem the US media wouldn't be afraid to report on us.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know why they’re not reporting on them? Because they’re not newsworthy. Guess who else isn’t reporting on them: the CBC, the BBC, etc. they’re not newsworthy because like you said, they’re happening daily and they’re accomplishing nothing. Nobody cares. Get off your asses and DO something other than chanting and angry signs.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

You first sweetheart. Easy to pretend it's not doing anything, and yet you're not out there doing anything personally. Come on now, an AR-15 is less than the price of a PS5. You wanna go "do something"? Go do something.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Americans need to stop asking people from other countries to come save them.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh please cupcake, you live under a capitalist far right government. You're just too pussy to do anything about it and wanna pretend like insisting the people who are actually doing things to oppose fascism are "useless" so you feel less bad about your own refusal to get off your ass lmao.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For a country with so many guns they sure seem to not know how to use them unless it involves killing kids or your family

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Imagine responding to a comment pointing out that the US media is actively not reporting the truth with a debunked lie. ICE keeps getting shot and branded "fake ICE" or "ICE impersonators" after the fact so that they can pretend ICE is unassailable and legitimate.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also a reminder: If your protest has a scheduled beginning and end and everyone just goes home at the end of the day, you're not accomplishing anything. MLK led his movement to sit in the National Mall for 6 weeks. Trump and his goons don't give a flying fuck about you, if you go home at the end of the day this will be their reaction.

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

A) no he didn't, that, like the idea that MLK was only about "peaceful protests" is propaganda designed to downplay the effectiveness of opposition B) Trump's goons don't have to. The point is to sow doubt among as many people as possible. It doesn't matter if trump personally is scared of protests, it matters if it puts a seed of doubt in the mind of a national guardsman when he gets an illegal order to fire on US citizens.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry, technically he only helped organize the 6 week protest. They killed him just before it happened. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_People%27s_Campaign Either way, at no point did I feed into that bullshit. It took a bullet to stop MLK from protesting. If you want actual change you need to be a fucking problem. Single day peaceful events just give free overtime to the cops.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

if they were such a nonthreat to cops I wouldn't have to wear Level 4 plates because of all the times AZ cops have shot at me during them.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you suggesting cops only shoot at legitimate threats?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any evidence? How'd you find out

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 23

Look at their websites. No trace of reporting on the rallies.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I drove by them, and occasionally joined them while I was working in Tallahassee in Florida. I work out of town, so my after work activity on some weekdays was to go join a protest.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The organizations involved regularly post their protest schedules online on their sites. One is https://www.fiftyfifty.one/events There's literally hundreds of organizations involved. Most never get covered by media even local media.

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Thank you I didn't know, shame people downvoted me

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You didn't deserve the downvotes. It was a sincere question, and deserved an honest answer. I upvoted you. Perhaps the biggest organizations; ng">>www.n">s.org">">>www.no">ngs.org">www.nokings.org, indivisible.org, www.fiftyfifty.one, www.mobilize.us. They'd all welcome you if you're interested, in whatever capacity you feel comfortable with.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been going to them.

2 months ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

All of em? Was just curious wasn't a prod

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the ones within driving distance of myself, yes. The news media has only covered the ones that are sponsored by Democrats, i.e. the 'no kings" protests.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mostly what people put on imgur from their own participation.
Until the cops/ice make it violent the media owned by billionaires wont reveal that shit is going sideways on them.
And when they do they will blame the protestors and not the cops/ice for the violence. Because that fits the narrative and will keep it from growing like it should.
It will take a General Strike, peaceful protests because if we have to tear it down, it is likely going to be worse.

I feel bad because I've been sidelined with back to back to back medical issues for myself, my mom, my pet, and all around again TWICE more. (Lost the pet two days ago) I'm exhausted but I should definitely show up more/

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We still need you, your vote, your voice.
This fight needs everyone, the ones who show up. The ones having fights about MAGA shit at family dinners. The ones who dig and dig on their lies, exposing their dirty laundry.
We need people on every line, carrying the fight on day in and day out.
