No one coming together to show that this matters would be worse. What do funerals "acheive"? This is a community member who was murdered. That community has friends, family, classmates, neighbors, colleagues who likely knew her personally. This is a human tragedy. The people gathering are being human.

The problem we generally have been having is that we keep stopping at one, than decrying that it solved nothing. Protests are about PRESSURE, and one push cannot force down the wall of establishment. So build the movement, protest continually and often and remember the one is only the start.
All governments, even tyrannical ones, need some popular support to survive. Denouncing this murder can help delegitimize the current government in eyes of its own supporters.
