Shogo, Heavy Gear, Armored Core 2, MW4 Mercs, and Hawken were the mech games I spent the most hours playing.

@OP I still have Mech4 Merc and 2 xpacs

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The CD had the soundtrack as playable tracks once you skipped the long data track that contained the game. It rocked

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too! I was one of about only 10-20 regulars who played it. I was probably ranked 10 in the world lol.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

playing in a party and then you lock up. I called it a day after that lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The soundtrack was epic!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The disc could be played as a music CD, I used to listen to it all the time.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup. We made movies and used the M2 music for our soundtracks. :D

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anybody know how to get this game running on dosbox?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mech warrior online exists and it's starting to get good.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

As a former Radio Shack employee, I spent long lonely mornings in the store playing this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Brilliant multiplayer, fantastic soundtrack and some of the best solo missions of any game I've played.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine was mechwarrior4. But the whole series was awesome. I hope 5 is amazing!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out Mechwarrior Living Legends. Awesome. A full Crysis conversion. Player base is only scheduled matches now but still worth playing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was released 17 years ago!?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah MW4! I always mained Daishi and Atlas mechs no matter whose side I chose

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MechWarrior 4 was the best - still think it has one of the best opening videos

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did you play it through Zone.com!?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Awww Steiner fall down go boom"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

MW 4, Mercenaries was mine. I did play 2, and it was good, but 4 Mercs is the best.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hell yes. Bushwhacker all the way.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes!! I was thinking about this game the other day. It's only been like 15 or so years since I've played it...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I tried to install it a few weeks ago. Windows 10 was like nope.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Found @ a local thrift store

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

MW2 was good, but Tribes there, that's the game that took up more hours of my life than any other.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I built my own foot pedals out of wood for this game. Controlled chassis twist.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Sidewinder!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gravis gamepad, binding keyboard keys to it to play Quake1 because I didnt know any better. finally switch to kb+m, 10x my k/d ratio.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Literally playing worms Armageddon right now with the misses. Wouldn't change it for the world.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She needs some practice though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rainbow six rogue spear. Delta force land warrior

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still love Worms! And I miss tactical R6

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those were a little later though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Goldeneye, Super Mario Bros 3, Deus Ex.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear was my jam. Surprisingly deep tactical side for its age.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Worms! I forgot how much of that I played. And Lemmings. Hours upon hours of Lemmings

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Let's go! *squeeeeeak*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes! I still hear that "lllets go!" in my head

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Countless hours spent planning an assault in R6... only to have my team wiped out over and over.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Load something fast up with about 20 small lasers and start fucking up leg joints

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I used to hide my locust behind a rock and take out battlemasters that way, what fun.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A shit tonne of machine guns would kill anything and not overheat ;->

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I think I tried it once, but was pretty disappointed at how effective it was.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My friends and I called it the bulldog strategy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hitting something with 16 flamers is an instant reactor meltodown kill.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

I never tried it with flamers, but it was really surprising how fast a ton of small lasers would turn heavy armor into pegboard

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

works in MWO as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

100% of the time, it works every time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

50 ton mech, two medium pulse lasers, lots of heat sinks. Fools looked like fool-ass fools

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Or just put an ER PPC on a Firemoth and run around like a little bitch. :-D

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

basically my strategy in mech warrior online get an artic cheetah and fill it with pulse lasers

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pulse lasers just generated too much heat for the damage benefits. I remember trying both builds and going back to regular lasers.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went for a weird sniper build for a bit, but that was kinda dull (Give up everything else for heatsinks, and long range firepower/aiming)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shadowcat with small lasers

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm trying to remember what I used most of the time... 50 or so tons, jump jets, and I can't remember the name.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Max out PPCs, one shot then nap time for the mech

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Or just chain-fire them at a reasonable rate and wreck anything in just 200 meters. ;-)

Alpha Assault, this is HQ. What is your situation?

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Please Comply.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The PPC cannon sound effect was better in multiplayer battletech

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

"Planet: Colmar. Ambient Temperature: 3 4 point 6 5 degrees. Local Time is: 0 1 34 16 GST. All Systems Nominal." How it was for this game.

I'm looking forward since mech online, which I didn't like. Atm it just a tech demo but having a well made singleplayer with that optic! ♡

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ghost Bears!!! :P

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I second this. Ghost Bear all the way!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This definitely needs a reboot.

Mech warrior online

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The most recent one or for pc was awesome multiplayer. Unfortunately my computer could never hope to run it at a reasonable frame rate.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I felt like the new one was too fast paced. It felt more like quake in robots than proper mechwarrior.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Mechwarrior Online is pretty damn good. It feels kinda pay-to-win, but the game play is there.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I think it's the least pay to win of any ftp game I've tried. There is, in fact, NO advantage for buying content, however 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

it takes a while to figure out HOW to play. I think new players should be forced to start with meds or heavies.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Or grind to win. But they do get ya going with bonuses for your first 25 games

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

hell yeah. Mechwarrior 2 and 3 were the best

FOOTPRINTS!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We didn't have a lot of money, so I got a knock off called EarthSiege. Was super grateful regardless and played the hell out of that game.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Did you happen to get into the StarSiege Tribes series? (Same universe, but totally different type of game.)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately not, no. I believe they came out with Tribes around that time, and I'd go play that at a friends house.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I preferred 3. I loved 3. I still have 3 somewhere.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

i haven't been able to get 3 to work since windows XP

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It runs pretty well in a VMWARE instance of Xp

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check VOGONS' forums. There's some working guides and widescreen fixes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I heard people didn't like 3, but I loved it. Nothing better than sitting on a hill with a Madcat just raining LRM's on people.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The latter games really nerfed LRM's. They are basically only good for softening things up now.
