This little lady was pulled off the range a few days ago and shipped over 1700 miles.

She had no handling and needed to be haltered and sprayed down before hauling.

Here she is coming off the trailer. Even though she has a halter on she can’t be led around because she is unhandled still.

Her curiosity amazes me.

I’ve had many horses that come straight off the range and many are down right nasty. Some will kick, bite, jump fences or die trying to get away from human touch. She wanted to check me out.

My other horses couldn’t get enough of her.

My horses didn’t phase her one bit.

Even though they were definitely crowding her space, she was glad to have the company.

I can’t believe she is mine.

Training starts after she gets settled in and yes, I will be removing that halter and lead rope she is wearing.

Have a great night!

She’s so cute & tiny!

Leopard apps are the best. And the worst initially. She looks like she has great potential though.

How many hands are your other two? They're all soo beautiful

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They are all babies so not very large... maybe 14.2

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How did she hit her head?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No idea, probably while getting caught.

Other horses help her feel comfortable and safe?

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yes, herd animals are better with herds. You make sure they aren't bullied or aggressively chased/abused by the existing herd.

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I'm glad you two found each other...

Such a pretty puppy. <3

Anyone else notice the rather large spotted stallion with his nose in her ass?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably a gelding, but ya know, guys are always interested in a new filly even if they have no chance

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She is beautiful! I miss having horses so much.

You literally have the three exact coats of the Appaloosa from Red Dead lol.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I still have not played that game. I really need to buy it.

Looks like she’s home!

I thought you couldn’t leave a lead on like that bc if they step on it they can snap their neck

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Definitely should not because serious neck injuries can happen if they step on it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They have very tough necks but it’s still not the best idea to let them walk around like that. I should be able to remove it soon.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don’t know much about horses save a rescue I worked at very briefly as a teen so thanks for clearing that up for me!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Horses scare me. They’re so powerful.

It’s the ponies you should really fear.

One of them at the petting zoo bit me in the face when I was a child. I don't trust them.

About 15 horsepower for the average workhorse at peak, to be exact.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How does that make any sense

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1 horsepower does not equal one horse's power.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mind blown

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Peak vs sustained, horsepower the measurement is based on sustained power. Also lots of different types of horses with varying "horsepower."

Horses are the most dangerous animal in Australia. No joke.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nope Australia has to many other creepy crawlies

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know. And yet, for all the hype, horses contribute to more injury and death. U can google it "most dangerous animal Australia"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was drop bears

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just like any animal you just have to respect them. Then they’ll be trusting of you.

5 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Apples and carrots work as well.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cats. They do not adhere this statement.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Well you do have a valid point there...

Why not let wild horses remain wild?

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

There are no wild horses in North America, only feral. This horse is neither, it’s just never been handled by people yet.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

She was purposely bred and her family is owned privately they just live on open range country.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

She's so tiny!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most of the remaining “wild” horses in the western US are actually feral, not wild, and while beautiful, they pose a problem as pests. 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The large population in south central Washington state is one example. Neat to look at while driving through the area though.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My understanding is most of them are only a couple generations removed from farm horses, and are not really “wild” horses.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

All of the "wild" horses in North America are feral. Horses went extinct in the Americas 10,000 years ago, and were reintroduced by Cortez

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

where "went extinct" means we ate most of them.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mustangs (feral horses) in the US are descendants of horses belonging to Conquistadors, Native Americans, and various settlers (so you

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Does from the range mean she was wild?

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

No she wasn't in a chicken coop

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes she was 100% free roaming.

5 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

More delicious that way... Only joking

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It seems so. Seems like it's because there are too many wild horses, but I fail to see how putting them in enclosures would solve that.

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

The horses are removed from an ecosystem that can’t support a big horse population. Nature benefits.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It gives them food, shelter, and safety. Something they aren't getting in the wild. Would you rather they be euthanized?

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I dunno tbh. I mean why aren't they hunted for meat like any other animal? Aren't there any predators to thin their herds?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

no we killed all the predators off already

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cougars can take young horses. If only they were left alone by hunters.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Horses aren't native and i bet there are not enough predators around to hunt them

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Honestly i dont get why some animals can be regulated by nature and others not...

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Horses are relatively newly introduced as well

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We just hate watching them die of starvation. Horses destroy their habitats and only source of food when they are over populated.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Still you could hunt if it was just starvation. Still starvation and dead carcasses in the wild are a part of the ecosystem
