Amaze-balls chrome experiment lets you battle stormtroopers using your phone as a lightsaber.

In the end of the simulation, which was developed by Disney for use in the Chrome browser, you get to fight TR-8R (whappity whappity). Simply click this link: https://lightsaber.withgoogle.com/ and follow the instructions from there. The whole experience takes less than ten minutes, but it'll be ten minutes of bliss for any Star Wars fan. Seriously, check it out.

Instructions unclear. Threw my phone, hit my girlfriend in the face. Phone's broke, and I'm not getting sex for a week. Thanks, Obama!

So... Am I the only idiot that immediately after reading the title tried to wave the phone like a sword?

It really sucks because of the input lag

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

completely noncanon. Stormtroopers actually hit me.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It would be cool if they had a QR code generator for the phone to connect.

I tried out the Vive yesterday and was absolutely blown away by Tiltbrush and Lightblade. 15/10 would Vive again.

Try to hold it still and keep it vertical as you move it around, this also applies to using the phone.

I assumed he meant the beginning of internet memes. It was pretty close to the beginning.

Reminds me of Jedi Outcast. Best FPS Star Wars game.

9 years ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 4

I played a VR version of that in 2003 at Busch Gardens. It was straight up bullshit. I thought the joystick would control the lightsaber.1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Nope, it controlled the character movement and even though I was wearing a headset it played from 3rd person perspective, God only knows why

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Do flight sims count as FPS? Because TIE Fighter is the best game ever for *any* category.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is 100% accurate.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of those games are good, but the best Star Wars FPS is Republic Commando.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Academy was better. Outcast suffered from poor level design.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Hm interesting, I thought outcast had better level design. To each their own, both were excellent games

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I LOVED Outcast. Disagree with academy being better. The gameplay improved, with saber styles and such, but the story wasn't anywhere close.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Outcast was my favorite as well, even though the saber combat was more refined in academy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit I should've read your comment first. Pretty much said the same thing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you. I liked Jedi Academy but Jedi Outcast had better story and level design. And multiplayer was better.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oooo, imma play it. Never heard of it til now

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's from the series Dark Forces. They're on steam if you game on PC. They're pretty old so they run on just about any computer. Good stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ya I'm bummed out cause steam just had a major star wars sale like 2 weeks ago and I thought about it, but I couldn't decide which game lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd recommend Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast. It's midway through, but a good one to get started.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You misspelled Republic Commando.

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 4

YASSSSSSS

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still the best fps. I wish there were servers up for multiplayer. As much as PS2 and Overwatch are fun, it's not the same.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You. I like you.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Jedi academy was better, so good they couldnt follow it up with another one.

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 4

Just a shame the story was fucking awful

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember Academy MP being easy because you could dual wield lightsabers. Yellow and purple would visually confuse most opponents.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The whole Katarn series is awesome!

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I recently bought the entire star wars game collection and I'm not sure where to begin

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TIE Fighter!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

really?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Easily the best flight sim game I've ever played. It's actually challenging at times, too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, I disagree....

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You...disagree? Careful, we've got the death sentence on twelve systems

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Academy single player was great, but Outcast multiplayer was amaaaazing. Academy multiplayer was crap.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I remember it being ok, but I didn't have anything to compare it to.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never really played outcast multiplayer, but I remember pwning nubz in academy on xbox.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

JA's singleplayer was awful, but the multiplayer is way better. JO for singleplayer, JA for multiplayer.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yup, this.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also if you never have checked it out, there are tons of mods and a great active community at jkhub.org

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought the single player was excellent....perhaps I have low standards....oh well

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In comparison to JK2, it was subpar, but it is still excellent. The story is the worst part of it, the gameplay is fine though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
