#4 I honestly don't have a problem with people walking slowly in front of me. I can time it to get around them. My big problem is when people get off the escalator, take one step and then pause to gather or reposition their belongings. My standard response is "there are 100,000 square feet of open space, why choose these 4 square feet to stand around?" (and I'm not a 'get off my lawn' type person)

I wouldn't mind it, but MeToo ruined walking behind people for me. I'm constantly scanning the ground for cat/dog poop (I mostly live in the Mediterranean area so stray cats roam around) or cracks in the sidewalk and the angle is exactly the same as it would be if I was staring at butts, so I have to speedwalk past them as fast as I can lol

Choke points are always a bad place to stop. Nothing like walking through an event in a large space and there is a group standing right in front of the hallway to the washrooms having a conversation.

The Persona 5 students seem to range between 16 and 18 and the Japanese age of consent is now 16. What you're not going to like to hear is that when the game released in 2016 it was apparently still 13.

That's a pretty commonly cited misconception. IIRC 13 is the lowest it's allowed to be by national law, and in most places the local laws have it much higher.

Regardless of any of that, a teacher is a position of authority over the student. It shouldn’t even matter how old they are, the power dynamic between them would make it inappropriate even if both were adults. The fact that one is a child, even if they are considered legally of age, just makes it worse.
That said, I’ve never played Persona, and the other comment seems to present a much less damning series of events.

I don’t know where you’re from, but that is very much so not a thing here. I work in education and have three close relatives who are classroom teachers. I have never heard that sort of thought expressed outside of extremely problematic works of fiction.

I mean that's overall how it goes, cultures differ. Like most of the world giggles at the 21 alcohol limit the USA has, and they treat it like some god given treshold. In regards to sex, a lot is also still based on religion, and iirc the East Asians (so like Japan) historically treated it differently than the Christian based world. More in a "who cares" way.

That's where I disagree. I don't think the law has to pick a point at all. I think each case should be treated individually based on the facts and individuals involved. There are definitely 16-18 year olds out there who can't be making that decision for themselves. Likewise there are some people who are mature for their age, not saying it isn't creepy but also isn't rape if they're able to understand and consent.

Norwegian age of consent (16) and what happens when going under it is pretty nuanced if nothing else. Eg it's ok with someone who's 17 if the other is 15y9mo, 16.5 with someone who's 15.5 and so on. Don't remember the exact ages, but they basically say it's ok that teenagers do these things if the game gap isn't too great.

Second part: female teacher works a side job as an on-call Maid and is extremely uncomfortable when her student encounters her doing that job. The "romance" aspect is something that she resists every step of the way and only acknowledges that it COULD be possible at the very end, and insists nothing goes further until he's older. So it's very different than shown.

Basically: she says No like 10 times, specifically because of the age gap, he is a student and she is a teacher and she is aware of the power dynamic, and because it would have negative consequences on them both. (She loses her job, he gets expelled since he is already labeled a criminal delinquent and has 2 strikes against him.) If anything, the protagonist is a bit of a dick about it because he keeps calling and requesting her services (they talk while she cleans) because he knows she can't refuse to show up because she'll lose her job and she needs the money for legit story reasons, and he keeps pushing the issue instead of respecting her saying No. It's my least favorite social link.
