Less fast for y’all

Mar 21, 2022 2:36 AM

So, it’s not slow motion…apparently just due to frame rate and how the iPhone captures it just seems slowed Tf down. I googled for entirely too long how to change an accidental slow-mo vid to a normal speed vid…but here we are. Plz enjoy…or don’t.

Every now and again I miss doing this. *Le sigh*

Clear proof of flat earth theory right there ;-)

Don't slow it down too much more or you'll stall the plane

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could speed it up for you

Some say OP is still landing to this day.

Seems about the right speed to me. Is this a private jet/plane? You looked really low before the gear hit the tarmac, too low to be comm.

?

iPhone is really floaty too.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

touchdown at around 180km/h? 100kn? that might be too slow for a 747, but that plane doesnt seem to be a big jet, so its probably fine...

I have my pilot license and this looks exactly how it does in IRL.

I'm just glad this wasn't that Chinese jet D:

Fwa?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Perspective. You are sitting very high above the runway, that's why it seems to be slow in such a cropped frame with low FOV.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Try switching your phone to wide-angle and you will see a much "faster" landing, even though it's the exact same speed.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks perfect, nice approach

Now that is a sexy landing. Seriously I'd fuck that landing if it'd let me and it were physical possible.

Bunch of lapsed ones before this. I’ll have another one up soon.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sweet. If you ever do a cold and dark I would love love love to see that on a citation

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In all honesty, it doesn't look slowed down. Or maybe I'm mis-interpreting.

4 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

Having landed small aircraft, this looks quite normal.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If you’re a fellow iPhone user, maybe we’re just used to it?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

it's not slowed down. It's the effect of high frame rate and low FOV making our monkey brains think it's slow.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also our minds relate those center strips to the size of lines we see while driving, which are 10’ on the freeway, they are 120’ on runways.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Things at a distance appear slower. I wasn't phased by it, not an iPhone user either

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

*fazed

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It looks slow because everything on that runway is actually huge as fuck and your brain expects the white lines to be highway sized.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

this, this is the answer, not sure why people are talking about iphone frame rates. frame rates have nothing to do with this

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's funny to put a Cessna down on a 300' wide runway like you're sinking into a concrete bathtub.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This exactly. The stripes are 120 ft long, spaces are 80 ft.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Field of view will alter the perception of speed. If the camera was further back it would look faster...

4 years ago | Likes 275 Dislikes 0

Why did you slow down the video each time after zooming in?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I forgot about this video. Good call
