Baggage that follows you around.

Is it made of sapient pearwood?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If it has a Samsung battery it becomes an ied lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does this count as leaving your luggage unattended. Like it is not in her sight at all. Also try explaining the electronics at security.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's a Good suitcase, give him a treat miss.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Needs more legs.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I often don’t know where my luggage is, that's what being a tourist is all about.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I wish my kids would behave like that

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good luck, buddy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kim is already finding a way to turn it into a bomb

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hahaha

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anybody seen the Color.of Magic? Reminds me of his money luggage that followed him

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Airlines are already banning these and the ones with chargers in them. They're afraid of the lithium batteries.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So this bag isn't going to take-off?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The ones with batteries are carry on only and are not banned at all. You can’t check lithium but you can carry on no problem.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Reminds me of shopping with my ex.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

This comment deserves more love! :P

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That one hit close to home lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Miss, have your bags been in your possession the whole time?"... "Ughhhhhh..."

8 years ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 4

Well you could say it's possessed in a way

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

"That's not my bag, It just started following me"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I do not possess Bag. Bag stays with me of her own free will."

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Was gonna comment this, but with the response "...kinda..."

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you go through the trouble to make motorized luggage, why not make it rideable?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I think there are some that you can ride. Pretty sure iv'e seen it somewhere. Not sure how much room is left for clothes though.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's cool until they don't let you on the plane with a battery that big.

8 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

I'ts powered by hamsters.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Battery? You mean the fishing wire attached to her upper left leg. Every time her left leg swings it moves

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 27

Which is also suspicious!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Not even close to being in sync.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Incorrect. This is Smart Luggage, and it's powered by a Lithion-Ion battery. It also has a GPS beacon installed.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Not even funny

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can see another tire in the middle of the suitcase bottom. A pair or more would make it steerable.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I tried to believe you, You are wrong

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Definitely robotics involved here. It always stops short of her legs, and is not in sync with her steps. Either camera+object recognition...

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

is at work for the suitcase to know where to go, or it's traveling towards a transmitter that gives her location.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Probably. There may be other possibilities.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

PLEASE tell me it makes R2-noises as it follows you.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I cant believe it doesnt look like R2, its the only thing i could think of watching this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or BB-8 sounds! I'd be all over that!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't get it, where are its little eyes and waving hands?

8 years ago | Likes 120 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think it follows her cell phone bluetooth signal.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 22

I think you missed the point, there

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

r/woosh

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Wouldnt that only work if bluetooth were directional?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I work with some Bluetooth systems that can locate beacons within a couple inches

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think it has to be directional. It could measure signal strength, but I don't know ow enough about BT precision

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's really more about triangulation.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And airlines are already bannng them because of the lihium ion batteries in them.

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

I’ve brought several rather large lithium ion batteries on an airplane before, I’m confused

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Many airlines forbid large batteries in your checked luggage

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only if you can't remove the battery before checking the luggage and put it in your carry-on. (You know, and not Samsung.)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Suitcase: Excuse me. No, no. Down here. Have you seen a man who's lost his luggage, about 5 foot 10, mousy hair?

8 years ago | Likes 430 Dislikes 3

Refren?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Red dwarf!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They've sent him to the wrong bloody airport again

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

A aah fox!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's what I was thinking of while watching the video ha ha love red dwarf!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No I havn't!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Suitcase: Oh, no. I bet they've sent him to the wrong bloody airport again!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My mom had a laptop (in bag) stolen right under her nose at Sky Harbor last year. She said she was distracted by an accomplice.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does it bother anyone else that she left the handle up??

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Yes. Would have been cooler with it down.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Where else would she attach the thread?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

It probably acts as an antenna, like the one old phones used to have.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Most of those were placebos

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You shut your mouth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

B-but the antenna!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

you ever heard of an antenna?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sense the 90s. And at the range why would it need one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

gonna put this out there: does anyone know of a Sci-fi Novel with one of the main characters who has a set of these? They are almost AI, 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of them hands her a gun right as she needs it... there was a lot of Biomech too. Someone had a gun *under* their fingernail (I think)2/?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think there was a giant alien ship, but in the atmosphere of a planet... memories are vague. Reminds me of the writing of Alstair Reynolds

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or, if anyone can suggest where I should go instead, so I can ask this question.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Google...just type exactly that into google youd probably find something

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

tried it, no really good results/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now let’s see it follow you down the stairs.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Ba da boom ba da bing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would totally start running around screaming and looking at the luggage in panic.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'll be honest; I was disappointed that she never did that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was wanting and waiting for that the entire time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like a good way to get your stuff stolen.

8 years ago | Likes 1902 Dislikes 26

not if you keep an eye out. People that want to steal won't care if you're holding it or it's following you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really want to see it go shooting off the top of an escalator and knock out 6 people

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or get hit in the achilles

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get the mk.2 v

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And a great way to get a flat tire.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But how does it work??!!??!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Especially attractive when your stuff is wrapped in an expensive self driving case

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Joke's on them. Nothing fits in that bag except for the battery, motor, control systems and a box a tampons.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe it screeches autisticilly if it senses someone trying to snatch it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean if it loudly beeps if it detects its being stolen, is that any less effective than one hand casually dragging it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was my first thought.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just put it on a leash, could still have free hands and enough slack to let it drive itself around but you're still attached to it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A few of airlines in North America won't even allow them on the plane because they have a battery that has a chance to explode

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just hope that it also has the ability to turn into an armed mech to fight off anyone trying to steal or rob it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will just come back to you later.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If someone wanted to steal your luggage in the airport, your grip isn't stopping them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is probably in Korea or Japan where they don't have as many cunts as we do in the rest of the world.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mfw some thief just quick-hands it and I look back to see no luggage.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Yoink.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah, if only that petite woman had one hand casually pulling it along, no one could possibly steal it then

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If technology gets to that stage, I'm sure it's gonna have certain alarm sound comes off when someone else take it, like female orgasm sound

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And to get slapped with a lawsuit when it smashes into some little kid.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

America?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Alarm programed to go off when more than 15 feet from user. No way they didn't think of this or even something better, like built in taser.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Gotta be careful with this, last thing you want is the equivalent of a car alarm everyone ignores

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am also curious how easy hijacking/imitating the guiding signal is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First thought

8 years ago | Likes 280 Dislikes 5

Same. Yikes

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

First, second and third

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Make that a fourth too

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Comes with "Free shit in this suitcase" sign for those busy concourses

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I work at an airport and I cant tell you how often bags get damaged. This will be a very short investment for most people.

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

Yes, we all know this. Maybe if the bags were just handled with more care...just a thought

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

I agree. But that would require no one checks in super heavy bags and everyone being ok with the extra waiting that would cause.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

passengers, 12/22/17-1/2/18: https://youtu.be/2zcVnNwAHys?t=39s

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe the suitcase defends itself against theives...

8 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 2

Be wary of mimicry

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sounds like something bees would say

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i'm pretty sure the suitcase knows martial arts

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

[USER NOT RECOGNIZED. PREPARE FOR HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRIC SHOCK]

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It explodes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...and TSA agents alike.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So, thieves?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it know karate?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In this case the fishing wore yanking your leg would be a good indication

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive seen ones for sale that synced to your phone and followed the signal automatically

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or beeps really loudly if it goes past a certain distance from the signal it's following?

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

My dog does the same.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You use your dog as a suitcase

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well. Most of us have some baggage that follows us around..

This needs to be the top comment.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Terry Pratchett got there first

8 years ago | Likes 264 Dislikes 2

Needs 50 feet.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

"The Luggage had spent many years trailing through strange lands, meeting exotic creatures and jumping up and down on them."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

«Pratchett has stated […] that the Luggage was created from the time he watched a woman's suitcase wobbling across the tiles of an airport.»

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Anyone know where I can obtain some sapient pearwood? I would like to build Luggage for my daughters.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Luggage 2.0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just saying she must be a wizzard.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"His name is in the code, in the wind in the rigging and the shutters."

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

His name is Terry Pratchett

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

SIR Terry Pratchett, if you please.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO START THIS SERIES. DOES IT MATTER WHICH ONE, OR IS THERE A RECOMMENDED 1ST BOOK?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Do it! Read them! Read them all!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Personally, I'd start at the beginning (_The Colour of Magic_) and go from there; it really lets you see everything develop over time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd read in order of them being written. The quality builds & you'll learn about the characters naturally. I'm a Sam Vimes & The Watch fan.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

start with the color of magic

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just dive in mate, theres seperate series like the witches and vimes so pick one and start from the first of that series

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

https://imgur.com/dwjhVd5 The Colo(u)r of Magic was the first, but personally I'm more partial to the Watch and Death threads.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Holy hell I've been reading these and I needed this, thanks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Read the first two, they set up the world, and the light fantastic(book 2) is one of my faves

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That reading list proved invaluable when I started with Discworld, bless.
