Ok.. so this had me curious about the original. Did a google search on the image and found like 40 different variations with anime characters.... no original. Wtf is the context? Why the absolute horror?
The base image is AI. There was a number of images in this style floating around a while back (also can tell from screwed up domino's logo, nonsense background, kinda off faces+legs, and that everyone's terrified of what seems to be a harmless pizza)
There was this fantastic spree a while back of people AI-generating images of security camera footage of chaotic scenes happening in the lobbies and kitchens of chain restaurants.
So silly question, but is dominoes making halfway edible pizza in the US? I had one here in Germany and it tasted somewhere between "bad frozen pizza" and "about as del as the box it came in".
Not in Canada at least, it's as disappointing as McDonald's and frankly not that cheap anymore. I can get a better pizza cheaper from a local shop. So why dominos? No clue. Same with mc Donald's i went there a few week ago the meat patty was fucking steamed the whole thing was dripping ketchup and the whole burger (double cheese bacon) weighted about 100 gram (for 20$) I don't get it
Every chain is joked about in reference to their quality to some degree. Little Caesar's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc. Essentially, you go to a chain because you want something vaguely like pizza, but cheaper and worse. If you want something actually good, you go to a local restaurant.
It kinda varies a lot. It was good when I was a kid, went downhill over the years and got pretty bad, a few years back had a major overhaul of their menu and supply chain and got back to "okay and occasionally kinda good".
It's never going to be my first choice, but there are far worse chains out there.
That said, as the other commentator stated: their bread is on the sweet side and the meat is over processed, which makes the whole pizza taste too salty. Good when you are drunk though.
It depends on your expectations. As an American it's .... fine. Not the best or the worst. German palates might find the dough and sauce too sweet and the meat too salty and processed. It was fine for "I don't feel like cooking" nights or office parties but nothing you'd ever share on Instagram or bring visiting family members too. I say "was" because it's so expensive now that I don't bother. Costco sells a 2-pack Detroit-style pepperoni pizza for $13 and it's just as good.
I mean I'm not living very urban, but I can get delivery from 3 other pizza services (2 of them also deliver Asian), none of them big chains, all of them cheaper, all of them of acceptable quality. Why the hell should I go for the expensive junk?
I'd say you've answered your own question. Like I said, my wife and I don't bother anymore because we've always got a few of the frozen Costco pizzas in the garage freezer. As a disclaimer, I do live in Seattle and EVERYTHING here is more expensive than the national average. Maybe in ... I dunno, Ohio, you might get Dominoes for a more reasonable price.
Another German here. Mabye, to help you manage your expectations: Domino's and Pizza hut don't sell Pizza, not what we know as Pizza at least. They sell the american interpretation of a pizza, which is distinctly different. I think you're best off if you don't treat their product as the same as "normal" pizza, but as something separate and to be judged sparately. Kinda like Gyros and Döner. Comparable origin, but different enough to be considered distinct.

No, it’s an AI generated picture with additional edits.

It’s god awful pizza. But since Pizza Hut and little Caesars are republican donors, it’s what I get if I must.

I worked next to one and it was thoroughly disgusting. Will never eat there again

Shit is more expensive than non chain delivery around here.

I really don't know where people are getting how bad it is. I've always loved it.

From my very own taste buds.

That which domino's calls a pizza by any other name would taste just as bad to me.
TanithRosenbaum
I see the issue. What you're craving isn't pizza in the first place, it's fish and chips from Stratford upon Avon.
