When nature tells you something, you had better fucking listen.

if only somehow someone could've foreseen it

Crazy the things that make you cry. I remembered the hope. I remembered the time before. Now we ask "what happened?" Even though we've been witnessing the whole time every morning is like feeling the rug being pulled out freshly. That's the consequence of dreaming every night of a better world.

I voted for Bernie. DNC wanted him to lose though.

9 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No, that's bs because only 18% of you guys showed up for Bernie during the primary 15% in person and 3% by mail. The DNC didn't tank Bernie's chances his supporters did.

6 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They literally had to let go one of their heads over funding issues with him and pledging superdelegates early.

Beginning with an unholy alliance to attack Bernie.

18 hours ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Yup. Same shit happened with Obama, which resulted in him losing the 2010 midterms, which meant losing the House, which then resulted in McConnell blocking EVERYTHING, which resulted in Obama basically being a lame duck for thee last 6 years. And then Republicans blamed everything on Obama. "See? When Democrats are in power they do nothing for working class people"

17 hours ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

edit: Eric Cantor, not McConnell

Now imagine if Al Gore hadn't gotten the election stolen from him. Just take a tick and remember all the bullshit W pulled. Now extrapolate from then until now and how much better things would be. Perfect? Far from it, but holy jesus titty fucking christ on a cracker... Leagues better.

Or Carter winning because the public finding out Reagan asked the Iranians to not release the American hostages. Imagine America without those 8 years of Ronald Reagan. The drugwars. The dismantling of workers unions. The 4 (!!!!) SCOTUS judges appointed by Reagan, total nutjobs like Scalia.

17 hours ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

man i remember that- my dad was upset about Al Gore magically getting ballots from nowhere (he was old-fashioned republican). i didn't know any better at the time and thought Al Gore must have been a bad guy...

thinking about how perspective, stepping out of your comfort zone, and some life experience changes things... It's too late for him, but I'm glad I was able to break away.

On the incredibly unlikely event Bernie managed to beat Trump in 2016 - which is a high bar considering he couldn't even win a majority of Democratic primary voters - he would have lost badly to Trump in 2020.

17 hours ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 10

Democrat primary voters are likely more conservative than general election voters. Imagine having to craft a message to appeal to conservatives in South Carolina or Georgia

14 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Many "Bernie bro's" voted for Trump. If Trump had lost in 2016, he would not have run in 2020. He would just sell books about him being a candidate. Bernie vs Trump in 2016, I think Bernie would have won because of a few reasons like : Bernie is not a Clinton (many Dems stayed at home because they were tired of yet another neocon democrat), Bernie is a man (many people didnt vote Hillary because she's a woman). And I think Bernie would have done MUCH better against Trump during the debates.

17 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

No they didnt. Bernie primary voters went for Clinton at a greater rate than Clinton voters turned out for Obama in 2008. The idea of 'Bernie Bros' mass voting for Trump was an invention of a bitter DNC after the coronation failed

14 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bernie does have a chance of winning in this jackass country. And I say that have been a Bernie supporter since his early days.

20 hours ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

I know you mean *doesN'T .... I'm from Europe. Bernie would not have a chance of winning in my country either. Not in Germany, not in England, not in Netherlands, not in Belgium, not in Poland, not in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy.... maaaaaaaybe in the Nordic countries? But sadly, in general, EU is not far behind USA.

20 hours ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

We tend to think of Europe as progressive, but it's wild how many countries have anti gay laws, or weed isn't legal. Or all sorts of things. Healthcare and workers protections are a bit better but that's it.

11 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think thats because people are still comparing 1960's USA with 1960 EU. "Haha you can smoke weed in the Netherlands and they wont arrest you!". But time has stood still since then in the EU. I dare say, time went backwards because the far right is gaining ground. Example: weed has been legalized in US in many states, but is still not legalized in Netherlands. Example 2: when there are protests we see more and more right wingers holding Bibles. Religion is making a comeback.

Too much rightwing propaganda in our news media. It's too much "immigrants are the cause of {insert problem here}" and "climate change is a hoax" crap.

19 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yup. I have colleagues who are cheering on Israel bombing Iran into oblivion. When I point out that probably means millions of refugees coming to Europe, they say: those GODDAMN IMMIGRANTS, HOW DARE THEY! They can not connect the dots. They do not understand bombing people is closeely related to "people fleeing that area".

17 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If we want progress we have to mount a defense against the propaganda machines. We must start there or it’s knitting a pulled string.

19 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

For that you'd have to get rid of Citizens United, which is impossible with current SCOTUS.

17 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That’s just one machine. We can start with the ones operating in comment sections and forums across the internet and work our way up

16 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a reason why Federalist Society chose to take over the judiciary frst. That reason is: they decide everything.

16 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There would still have beem a backlash from the fucktards, thats the struggle we need to consistently go for the lesser evil at worst to the best case scenario choice. But we are short sighted ans stupid, so the instant there is a bump or a platue the fuckwit majority will go on find the fucktard king to drag everything back 200 steps.

Its why we still have folks saying "omg i never knew they where like this!" or "they where brainwashed!". Mnah your grama/gramps/mom/dad/bestie where always shit

20 hours ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I believe the majority of people can not take care of themselves because they lack the brainpower. I seriously think they need some kind of "adult" to make sure they do the correct thing. A doctor who tells them to eat properly because they dont do it on themselves. Police who keep them in line or they would hurt others. A scientist who tells them 'yes the Earth is round'. Sadly there are not enough "adults" to teach all the idiots.

20 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

We are still working with reactionary chemistry, sure we can randomly do some actual planning but we cannot do it consistently. We are not rational beings, its all vibes and bullshit... I am just as guilty of it and its infuriating. Stupid chemistry convinced its anything but that.

Pattern recognition doesnt make us rational. We also see the pattern of a face in things that are not faces.

Also what overpopulation? We have for a long time overproduced food, materials and certain luxuries, that we fail to use the surplus to give everyone a good quality of life points to how illogical we are.

I doubt youre claiming that those on the spectrum act in purely logical ways... So yes the entire species is a mass of illogical chemistry.

14 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not all people are the same. I think, like almost anything, "rational" is a scale. I think some people are more rational than others.

17 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Mnah, we have fits of rationality. But overall we are bags of reactionary chemistry.

17 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too bad he didn't have enough supporters that voted for him.

17 hours ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

He did. He was leading the primaries with Biden in 5th. Then Bernie was summoned by Obama to the White House that the DNC was backing Biden. Then magically, Biden is in 1st place.

14 hours ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Exact same thing happened with Hillary. Bernie was gaining momentum, went to a DNC meeting, a week later he started talking about we should support Hillary. I was like: wtf ??

14 hours ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

There was no "magically" about it. Obama (obviously) endorsed Biden (his VP) and the bulk of Democrat primary voters voted for Biden, because they liked Obama.

Bernie snagged just barely 26% of the popular vote. Not delegates. Popular vote.

The turnout for the primary was better than most years, too.

The fact is that Bernie's mythical independent base just... didn't show up to the 2020 Democratic primary. Just like they didn't show up to 2016. Which, as a Bernie voter, is really annoying.

13 hours ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Bernie got fucked twice. In 2016 with the DNC and Obama backing Hillary even though Bernie was in the lead and could have easily taken Sweet Potato Hitler. Then again in 2020 with Bernie in first and Biden in fifth. This is an insane country that would rather vote for a centrist Democrat to keep the status quo than vote for a progressive to actually make our lives better. And now we’re in this situation twice. Which says the billionaires are in charge and not the voters.

6 hours ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know people who would have voted for Bernie, but instead voted for trump bc they didnt want another clinton in office. I agree with them about her, but am not stupid enough to vote for that dipshit.
