They also had a dance off in the dugouts. That is a video worth looking up because I don't know how to link to a Facebook video.

Plot twist: He's trying to give the kid the ball, the kid keeps throwing it back.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Regular season baseball is pretty boring to me, but that slow pace makes the best fan moments possible.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Baseball ????⚾️????⚾️

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They played catch for a long time. I had to stop watching.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can we just acknowledge the throw of that kid? He looked young af but that was impressive

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I love how this team is bringing the old school cubs feel back to wrigley. Another example: zobrist riding his bike to the park everyday

Would you want to be the catcher or the boy more?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Truly what the sport is about. Awesome to see, he has really made a difference in this kids life just by playing a game of catch with him...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love this. I see it happen fairly regularly at games and it warms my heart every time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless that kid lives to be 115 years old he will not live see another Cubs World Series championship

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

We need more role models like this!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

amazing...made that kid's year....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Keep it" "nah" "Cmon kid, keep it" "nah"

"It's got my autograph" "nah"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So proud to be a Cub fan right now. Love Contreras.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is very cool. Love baseball, dislike the Cubs. Brewer fan, the other team involved in that rain delay. +1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Go Crew!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks. Cubs canceled Saturday game because it possibly was going to rain. It did not rain a drop. They wanted to rest their pitching.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm in my 30's, and that would be unbelievably cool even now. Like getting to catch a pass from Tom Brady, or throw an alley-oop to Lebron.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Alex Baldwin offered $ 10K to Staubach's favorite charity if Staubach would play catch with him. Said it was the best money ever spent.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love would love to hang out with Brady and let the air out of a bunch of balls.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

30.0 feet is approx. 51.43 Bananas. (beep boop ima bot)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's impossible not to love Contreras.

8 years ago | Likes 229 Dislikes 6

Gaaaaaaay!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 11

Gives 100% on every play he's involved with, and you dont always find that at the professional level. He's young and just having fun.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Contraras to popular belief.,

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jajaja

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is cool but I don't like him. Yes, I'm a salty NE Ohioan before someone says it. Plus, he seems like he is a fucking human rain delay.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 21

How do you feel about Ben zobrist?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Fuck Ben Zobrist, Willson Contreras, and Javier Baez in particular.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sounds about right. Well hopefully we'll meet up in October again for a rematch.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't love him if only because I'm a Cardinals fan, but he seems like a genuinely good dude, and I respect the hell out of that.

8 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 2

Go Cubs Go!

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Now you know how we feel about Yadi.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was about to say a buddy of mine is a Cardinals fan and he doesn't particularly care for Contreras.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Cubs fan I have infinite respect for Yadier Molina, just a solid dude

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Except those neck tattoos. Those are pretty obnoxious.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Just a... A very hefty, dense shank of manmeat. You know.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait, you can't play baseball in the rain?

8 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 14

Mostly cause of the metal helmets. If it's only rain, then play ball, but lightening or thunder will cause a delay

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Only if it's heavy rain usually.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It was a out 40 degrees with downpours today

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This week has been absurd. It was like 80 on Thursday, and then cold as hell Friday. It's ridiculous.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The physics of baseball are very fined tuned. Water screws it up a ton. So beyond playing on dirt rather than grass which doesn't hold up 1/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well in rain. The mechanics of the game change drastically. Pitches especially get very dangerous as a wet ball has huge shifts in motion.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Big risk is for pitchers. The mound would turn to slick mud and they'd risk hyperextending their knee on every pitch. Not worth it.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Also, adding a slippery surface to something going 90+ mph makes it go out of control quick.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Exactly, some pitchers are wild enough as it is, don't need to add water that that equation. Plus you'd see a ton more walks==slow game

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can't play cricket or tennis in the rain for similar reason - pansies.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

This is such a stereotypical Internet comment

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its just bants.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Probably has a lot to do with gripping the bat and ball, if I had to guess.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Ever had a dirty baseball come flying in the direction of your eyes at 110mph spinning off flecks of dirt and pebbles?

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 2

Good point

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Constantly, I don't know what to do about it.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Lmfao! Great response

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im sure if I got payed 1/100th of what MLB players get payed I wouldn't be bitching about dirt in my eyes.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

As someone who sucked at baseball as a kid, getting a fast ball to the face and breaking your nose sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People really don't understand how fast that ball is coming

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All the dirt around the bases would turn to mud.

8 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 4

Seems like astroturf would solve this, and make rainy slides into second astounding...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Excuse my ignorance but, so?

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 4

Yeah don't forget about sliding

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What a bunch of pussies.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 35

When you get paid $6 million per season, your boss usually doesn't let you do shit that could hurt you. Even in football, dudes take a knee

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

They are very expensive asset

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And. Normally when something happens chances increase for another similar if not worse injury.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah! Why can't we slip and slide and possibly ruin an athelete's career by breaking a leg? /s

Rugby never stops for nothing.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Cause in other aports its useally played on turf or a feild nkt dirt. Baseball involes alot of sliding and whatnot. High leg break chance

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

And here's Tom:

8 years ago | Likes 182 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

20$ is 20$ ?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Actually only about $.25 worth of beer. Priced at $25.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Tom from MySpace!?!!?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

i thought he switched to spacebook

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does he even have anything in his hand?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You can see a ball being thrown.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah. Kept thinking it was the beer cup sent flying.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it actually is. His hand sure looks pretty empty as if he's just mimicking

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's definitely something. You see the cup drop to the ground but something does go up and over.
