"Worth it so I can be more openly bigoted!" - already wildly bigoted Americans

I'm really tired of being fucked over.

The only economy that does well under republicans is the stock market because investors love exploitation

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe I'm misreading things, but I think the bill is adding $4trillion to US debt over the next decade. I don't see how that translates into being something only people making less than $51k have to cover. Most articles just seem to be pointing out that this bill isn't doing anything to help get rid of the national debt. While republicans are claiming the lower taxes will boost the economy and result in more tax income overall.

Yeah, but you're leaving out the good part: All government services get cut too! /S

Do much for the party of fiscal responsibility

Distraction. what you didnt see was the provision he slipped in that weakens the courts power. https://www.newsweek.com/hidden-provision-trump-bill-court-2075769

Came here to post this. It prevents the courts from enforcing contmpt of court for non compliance - essentially neuters the court's ability to enforce their own mandates.

Thank you, yeah, just a month old account with no other activity beyond posting. Definitely suspicious.

A political bot, that’s all we need

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it’s anyone who makes under $500k. Either way the vast majority of Americans are getting a tax increase to satisfy (it won’t be enough and they’ll ask for more) the rich donors.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The people who make over $500k get the vast majority of it but it’s not the limit of where the actual tax cuts start.

He added 5+ trillion dollars to the deficit his first term.

10 months ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 4

and pocketed as much of it as he could figure out how; the fact that he keeps having to beg his cult to fund him speaks to the sheer poverty of his imagination

10 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

more like 8.5 Trillian

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

He wants to raise the debt limit by $4-5 Trillion for two years.
Then what?!

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And it hasn’t even been 6 months

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

His first term is already over.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OMG! 😭 This hit hard. It already feels like years with all the stress my coworkers and families have been under.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's been over 8 years since his first term started

This is the greatest transfer of wealth from the poorest 95% to the top 0.001%.... somebody had better.

Yeah. Our parents.

Trump is an agent. Its just that he's not a Russian agent, he's a US billionaire agent. He only answers to them.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Biggest wealth transfer in history.... so far.

10 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Actually the biggest wealth transfer in history went the other way, and utterly destroyed villages and towns. Mansa Musa is the richest person to have ever existed by a SIGNIFICANT margin (Bezos ain't got shit on Mansa) he would hand out so much money as he went through towns that he essentially made money utterly worthless wherever he did it. Like the equivalent of making everyone in certain towns hundred millionaires on the spot (by today's spending power)

On his Hajj to Mecca, he travelled with 12,000 slaves each carrying 2kg of gold, along with 100 camels carrying 100kg+ of gold (the current value of what he carried just to give away in that year, is just shy of half a billion USD), plus resources to feed everyone. Handed out gold to everyone he passed, stopped to build a mosque every friday

Guns have never been easier to get. But no one wants to be the one.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've given thought to the idea, and determined that I could never go through with it. Not that I don't think it's the right thing to do, but all I can think about is how my family will suffer afterwards - not just for my death, but because it will likely ruin their lives, too.

We like to pretend "Oh, if I'm terminal, I'd do it!" but it's not just your own life that you're ending. How would I feel about my nieces being harassed or harmed because of what I did? My mother? My partner?

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's purely a thought exercise in my case - afaik I'm not terminal or anything and bluntly, I'm not bad enough off yet. I know that's a terrible thing to say, but I've lived what worse looks like, and I'm terrified of ending up back there or even further towards rock bottom.

Maybe that makes me a coward. I avoid that thought. I think it makes me realistic. Maybe that's just what I tell myself. Apologies to the Bosstones, but though I have never been tested, I don't think I would pass.

It's funny, MAGA says Canada pays too much in taxes, yet here the US is, paying more than Canadians and getting nothing in return

10 months ago | Likes 162 Dislikes 3

Less than nothing. We are losing benefits in order to pay more taxes.

My friend wants to know what this is from, please?

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The news (see GOP bullshit)

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gravity falls

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly. I did some calculations years ago and determined that when you include the amount we spend for services others countries provide with only the taxes paid + out of pocket expenses + deductibles + monthly premiums = more than any other country collects in taxes by a large amount

10 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yes, but look at the great military we have! This way, we get to destabilize and browbeat other countries in doing our bidding. You know, preventing them from banning unhealthy imports like corn syrup, making sure they sell their bananas for cheap, insuring their water goes for the crops we can make a buck from?

When I say "we", I mean those who matter. Those who are getting a tax break as the "elites" lose hope, and the working class looks for a savior in unlikely places.

Buddy, you forgot all about the O I L

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. The 98% are the disposable assets valued so highly by the corporations.

now there will be so many more jobs available with all the citizens being mass deported that we’ll be able to keep funding the military.

We’re #1! ‘Murica

Social programs—gone. Health services—gone. Universal Health Care—never had it. Disaster relief programs—gone. Food assistance for starving children and the elderly—gone. Good education—never had it. Free higher education—never had it. Cancer research—cut. Research grants—gone. USAID—gone, resulting in the death of millions worldwide. Grocery prices and every product price are up. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch, but this list already makes me want to vomit.

10 months ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

We had free higher education until Regan got his hands on it while in office in California before he was president

10 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

My first calc teacher paid 11 dollars to go to Berkley, pre Regan of course, books included.

dont worry, over 60% of their entire population voted for this. sucks for the 40% that choose to stay and refuse to fight back

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 22

Bold of everyone to assume the non-voters would have broken D if they'd bothered to show up. If you want to call out a known subset that would more likely have voted D, do that, i.e., college students, protest voters, etc.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He failed to win 50% of the total votes and only won by a few percentage points. There was probably about 30% of the population that didn't vote or couldn't due to work, transportation, health reasons, no nearby polling location, or just couldn't be bothered because they couldn't tell you who the VP's are.

10 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

You overlook the 90 million idiots who didn’t vote at all.

Maybe they think the Avengers will go back in time and fix everything.
