It's not getting enough traffic, so I'm doing my part and linking to this other person's post.

-QUOTE-

"OK, so Collins had a little "private conversation" where she was given "reassurances" about #RFKjr and is now a firm yes. Coincidentally (not coincidentally at all) RFKjr now makes a point to publicly declare his love for the polio vaccine, as we know a possible swing vote is McConnell who is a polio survivor. And the lies and grift continue. Guess what? #RFKjr antivax groupies are now flooding senators with calls to vote yes. That means we need to work twice as hard as his vote will likely be tomorrow. I am still hoping that med schools will walkout and the press will be alerted and covers it. I still hold hope that there will be protests outside hospitals by staff that are off or about to go in/out. I still hope that we can band together and stop this madness! #RFKjr isn't a doctor, nor has any degree or experience in healthcare. This appointment is payout for dropping out, and he also stands to benefit from antivax lawsuits. What happens if there is another pandemic? Imagine how much worse it could be than the last time when there were at least some halfway reasonable people holding Trump in check. Call Call Call again esp try your GOP , every one, even the nuttiest, CALL because now the anti vax are making those Senate calls." https://www.senate.gov/committees/hearings_meetings.htm

-end quote

He was always going to be approved. If there's one thing R's are actually good at, it's falling in line, like the lot of feckless cowards that they are. Which is one of the things the voters were warned about repeatedly, that there would be no check and balances with Trump in office--because the cultists don't know how to say no (not that they ever accepted 'no' as an answer before).

Collins is an IDIOT. She got assurances from Gorsuch and Kavanaugh too.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Surely they've learned their lesson." - Collins
They've learned that they can count on her to always vote with her party to the detriment of the people.

I swear, susan collins is the dumbest, most gullible mother fucker who has ever lived

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

GOP are cowards and wont go against trump, no nominee will ever be denied.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Every asshole the Orange Shitstain nominates is getting approved because the Senate is run by a bunch of sniveling kowtowing fuckwits.

1 year ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 3

Collins has the same storyline literally every time. First she's deeply concerned. Then she received reassurances. Then she's shocked - SHOCKED I tell you - at the outcome. She would fail Remedial Goldfish 099.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

can we just put all the antivaxers on an island, ocean blockade it, and make a 24/7 reality t.v. show of them dying preventable death?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Swinging implies there was ever a chance he wasn't going to get confirmed.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At this point it's kinda moot. Even if rfkjr isn't accepted, Trump can either install him anyway or he'll install someone just as bad and put rfkjr in some other equally destructive position.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

God. They know Collins is an easy mark. They always give her "reassurances" then they make her look like a fool.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't get why the nominees get to have private closed door meetings with senators not on the record where could say or coerce anything. If they're going to make a promise to uphold something for the senator they can do it on the record and in front of an audience. If they're not willing to commit publicly then why should they be trusted?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A concession made to Collins is the RFKJr will be subject to an oversight committee lead by Collins. This means all deaths that happen due to RFK's policies is blood on her hands.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

LMFAO so fuckin' what? She doesn't give a shit and will face no consequences, so what does any of that dumb shit you just said matter?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

and there are going to be so, so many deaths that happen due to his policies

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It might matter if they cared or there were any repercussions

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How are you surprised by this? Filling every position with the least capable bootlicker is the plan. And the US Nazi Party is committed.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Susan Collins is a sociopath who gets off on constantly edging fools who believe that she might actually do the decent thing ONCE. Never gonna happen.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is no "flip", they were always going to confirm him, there was never a doubt.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

it doesn't matter what he says to get through the confirmation process. you have to know that he will revert to the anti-vax type that he is when he gets in his office.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cornyn's "mailbox is full". What a surprise, he's certainly full of something.

Send an email

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lol, that was immediately my next action.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know Mitch is old, but I didn’t think he was senile enough to buy that bs.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

we shall see

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That scumbag is going to be confirmed. The questions are just blustery

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FUCK.THIS.BULLSHIT

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are ALL getting confirmed, let there be no mistake. Hegseth was the test case & if he gets through, everyone else will too

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And how many Dems will go along with this madness?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

RFK is a done deal. Calling will only anger you further. If that rage will turn into something positive then go ahead. If it's going to make you kick a puppy then don't bother to call.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 9

who would kick a puppy, we're not Noem. my rage is quiet and white hot, and directed at its source. 'it won't work don't call' doesn't help any discussion

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Colins is such a spineless whorr

1 year ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 6

*Whoor

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She's a huge peice of shit, and a complete embarrassment to maine, and this country

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She is really Charlie Brown getting convinced over and over again that THIS time, Lucy won't pull the football away.

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

No. Charlie Brown actually was a good person who thought better of Lucy. Collin’s is just playing a “thoughtful” game but really is no different than any other GOP scoundrel

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah, she just lies relentlessly. It's the idiots who keep re-electing her that are playing the role of Charlie Brown.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

ditto for her dipshit constituents who keep voting for her despite repeated demonstrated incompetence

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's not even that involved. She was never going to go against her party. It's all for show and the only people dumb enough to believe otherwise are her voter base.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

When people talk about ranked choice voting, I always remember that she got re-elected despite Maine having ranked choice voting & it didn't even factor in. The people of Maine just want this, just like the people of America just want Trump or they wouldn't have put him back in power.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

-shrug- I didn't vote for him - may not matter to you but it does to me

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I think ranked-choice would take some getting used to, since in order to work, the public needs an understanding of all the candidates' policies - which is harder than not having to understand anything but a single letter after their name.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I wonder how many people in Maine actually voted though

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See also NYC's criminal mayor. Ranked choice voting and the voters went and picked the worst option.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm assuming you mean Eric Adams who is obviously insane and a crook, but I'm pretty sure all NYC's mayors have been insane crooks

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mostly, but Adams was the first to be selected in a ranked choice primary election.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oof. That does sting. That dude fucking sucks - did you ever see his weird PSA where he walks parents through how to search their children's rooms? It's honestly hilarious. The words "every parent should do this - doesn't matter if you just find a little thing like a crack pipe. Sometimes that means something bigger is goin' on"

It's unhinged.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh come on now... You really think anyone was ever ACTUALLY going to break rank and go against Trump?

1 year ago | Likes 348 Dislikes 2

Collins is such an attention suckubus. Always grandstands as a tiebreaker and always makes the wrong vote.

1 year ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

if this prick is put in charge his antivaxxer bullshit is going to kill thousands, if not millions. That's worth disobeying the cheeto fuhrer

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You seem to have confused our elected representatives with people who have basic morals

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Gonna suck for them when the day comes they meet their foreign replacement and get NOTHING out of the deal except for a bolt to the back. They get a traitors death even though they helped. Sweet irony.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republicans all in, Dems all out. That’s the state of our broken system. Yet people still vote the lesser evil, which depending on your pov is one or the other. Not me

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 41

We could have had rights and a functional system with a new record for morality and progress but instead we all just get to die and watch everything burn. That's the same to you?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're a moron. One of them is going to win. You're helping one or the other, whether you vote or not, so vote dummy.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And who do you think benefits from vote splitting? The issue isn't that people are voting for the lesser evil. The problem is a third of the country keeps fucking voting for the GREATER evil and they're not going to split that vote. You're never going to get rid of the fascist party unless they start losing every election.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Until we get ranked choice voting in so that a vote for something other than the big two could mean something, then yes, you gotta vote for one of them. Voting for a third party means literally Jack shit right now. Would I like it to be different? Yes, absolutely, but that's not the case right now.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You're right, but you know how we guarantee that ranked voting isn't ever a thing? Keep voting for the idiots who lack thereof keeps in power.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

You're right, but while ranked voting isn't a thing, it's literally throwing away your vote to vote for anyone else. Idealism means nothing for that, no "I took a stand", nothing, it's just a loss. It's black and white, until we can convince someone who has the power to change it that it's in the best interests to implement it.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Assuming you're american, who did you vote for?

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I voted for Jill Stein.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 22

Then you're a fucking piece of shit and you deserve to get asshole cancer and die screaming.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Fuck you

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Get fucked

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

She's a Russian plant

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Are you saying you always vote for the greater evil?

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

No, I vote any party but the two. Mostly Green Party.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 27

So yes. You do vote for the greater evil

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ah yes, the useful idiot

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

The best case scenario from their words is that they stand by and let the greater evil win.

"My conscience is clear!" They smugly proclaim as the gestapo fling yet another body into the mass grave behind them.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I think voting for Republicans or Democrats, keeps the corrupt machine running. The two parties work very hard to keep Americans divided.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

Great to see Russian botany enthusiasts coming clean around here

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Unless you can convince more than half of each party (or the entirety of one and a chunk of a chunk of the other) to vote for your 3rd party, you're just cutting our nose off to spite our face. Only one of them is building an actual concentration camp in Guantanamo.

If you want to make an actual difference, get involved in grassroots movements to elect more progressive local leaders and then support them during Dem primaries. That's how we get ranked choice, and no other way.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

People protesting and calling GOP senators do nothing. The GOP always votes party first. Not country. Mitch will give a yes vote because he will stroke out and forget that he is inside or "fall again" on the way to vote.

The man is a lawyer. Not a doctor. He wouldn't be able to name one bone in the hand if his life depended on it let alone make any informed decisions based on science. The next epidemic will spread through the US like a wildfire.

1 year ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 2

The problem is they don't care about your call unless you live in their state/district. And even then... were you likely to ever vote for them? And if you weren't do they think that they are likely to win anyways?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

mcconnell flipped on Hegseth . he did not vote party first and I don't think he'll vote rfk in on a Kennedy pity vote

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

He is a Polio survivor and RFK is attacking the Polio vaccine. GOP doesn't give a fuck about other people, but that is something very personally important to him.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Which is why I'll think he will manage to "trip" on the way to go vote. He tripped twice last week and at his age a fall could result in death in a hospital 6 months later.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

no one is tripping him. he has balance issues and is safe in his wheelchair now, so no.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His balance issues are because he is too damn old to be in congress. He has been in there longer than I've been alive.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

rfkjr just made a public statement specifically about polio vax, that he supported it! that is of course directed at mcconnell. but mcconnell isn't an idiot. his vote might surprise, we'll see. and these old southern senators, they must be fuming at being told to vote in a Kennedy. old south memories.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yea everything else I fully expect him to tow the line like every other MAGAt. I would only expect him to break ranks for something so deeply personal. He couldn't give a fuck about the general public. And RFK can say all he wants about protecting the Polio vaccine, he's currently actively fighting it in court.

we'll see
