Some of you may remember my post "This is Missy" that went to FP.

Sauce: http://imgur.com/gallery/kYaB2

My Family got Missy when I was 15 turning 16

We got her in the Summer of 2000

Because I wasn't working I got to spend a lot of time with Missy and we bonded immediately

Losing Missy was one of the hardest things we had to go through together

Every summer I tried to create her into a sand creature

Every summer I tried to create her into a sand creature

A Lot of this happened

A roommate and I Married our pets when we were avoiding studying Exams

Sometimes i just liked being a Dick to her...

and she still put up with my crap and loved my anyways

2 years into her life I started to date my future Husband

He knew that we were package deal

He Knew we had a strong bond

He Started to develope his own love for her

We were a Missy parenting team

We brought her literally anywhere we could bring her

Hardware stores

Subway

If she couldn't come into a store she was happy to stay in the car

She was a fantastic Branch Manager

Moved up in the Branch managing world

We LOVED our walks with her

Christmas was a really special time with her

Missy understood the concept of a gift and LOVED opening gifts..

Just like a kid she wanted to play with her christmas gift right away!

She was there for big moments in my life, like Prom

Wedding

Marriage

Moving into our first house

We werent just excited to have a new house, but a large backyard for her

She enjoyed the backyard and loved attacking water sprinklers

You can tell she doesnt like whats about to happen

Our best friends found farrel cats and we decided to take one to see if it could help missy with her distress of being left alone at home.

Happy family of four!

Our Cat Daisy grew up with Missy and Missy didn't like her in her space much

Ironically now the tables have turned for our cat.

Missy kept her distance

While Daisy tester her boundaries with Missy

Wait for it..

Missy eventually eased up on the cat

Allowed her in her space a little more

They came a long way

I Loved Missy so much when my than boyfriend would ask me what i wanted for my birthday i would say "Missy"

I Loved celebrating her birthdays with her.

Today would have been Missys 16th Birthday

I was soooo excited to post a picture on imgur of her with her 16 candles celebrating a huge milestone

Our Vet said she was the oldest Sheltie he ever had and we went above and beyond for her. Missy was on several medications for heart disease which cost us hundreds a month.

There wasnt anything we wouldnt have done for her.

Three days before her 16th birthday her breathing changed and we took her to the emergency Vet for her to stay overnight in a oxygen tank and they would call us to get her in the morning.

They called us 3 hours later telling us to come down came she wouldn't make it through the night. Her Medications were no longer working and she wasnt able to breathe.

She died on Imgur's Dog Day

I'm heart broken that i Can't celebrate her 16th birthday with you guys on imgur. Over the years i have loved to see how you all love your animals and I wanted to do the same on what i thought would be her last birthday.

Goodbye

Man saying goodbye to his dog before she was put to sleep

I wouldn't want her to be around in pain for 3 more days just so I can say she made it to 16

So Imgur, instead of celebrating her Birthday with you, I wanted to Celebrate her whole life with you.

This Dog was woven into every moment of our day, she made our hearts sing... We could not have loved her more..

Love you forever Missy/miss'ins/boo bear/puppin's

Thank you for an amazing 16 years!

FP EDIT: Imgurians, i'm not even sure what to say. Today was really hard but your messages/comments touched me and my husband really deep in the feels, We have been reading every single one. Reading your comments made us feel love, joy, comfort, sadness and made us laugh (which we really needed).

Yeah, I'm sure the guy wasn't that worried about such a dog being a "package deal" with her.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0
