Playing frisbee with the dog (for 10 min after which the dog would demolish it) has come a long way.

Honestly while funny people underestimate the amount of physical coordination, endurance and fine skill disc golf takes. Look at the pro tour and tell me any of those guys and girls are using substances on the course, I seriously doubt they are.

"A disc-grace to the sport" - I fixed the title for you OP.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude. Not cool :(

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I never considered it anything more than a hippie sport until I played with guys who were pro level. Massive drives that would take me 2 throws and anything within 50’ of the basket was guaranteed. Next level I tell ya.

In Finland smoking weed and playing disc golf is not a thing. Played fpr 13 years, never even smelled weed on a round

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Size and shape are coming through with perfect clarity.

That’s a slur to us

He kinda looks high AF to me.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I played a fully sober round of disc golf recently. Felt weird. Played better than usual though.

This is disc golfing. There are rules!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This must be an american thing? I play disc golf and don't know anyone who uses cannabis (though it's not legal here either).

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The weed is mainly a US thing. Pretty common in the UK too.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those khaki shorts are just an attempt to get us to believe he goes to Dave Matthews Band concerts.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well. I hate this post.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Why?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The sport is changing and being taken more seriously. The negative stereotype reinforcement bothers me.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love that people are unwittingly upvoting a babylon bee joke

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

"But but, BB never has any good jokes..." I see that all the time when it is known to be a BB post but when it isn't the posts seems to do well often.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...disc ...golf? Wtf is that? Am I out of touch?!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a great sport: https://youtu.be/7QrRUFECnuY

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was frisbee golf aka frolf in the 90s

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AKA Discing or Frolfing

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He finished his round in half the time and still had all of his discs.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Half a glance at that rough tells me not every disc is making it home, sober or not.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I upvote disc golf

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

i thought it was mandatory, basically cheating if you're sober

2 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 5

I've played disc golf with my kids, it was fun actually.

All I'm saying is the grass smokers don't leave beer bottles and cans around the park.

2 years ago | Likes 328 Dislikes 11

they just leave filters everywhere, and the occasional empty plastic joint tube

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Ah yeah they still do, did you forget smokers arent all non sdrinkers?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Oh you sweet naive summer child

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that your favorite cocktail?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All im saying is when i deliver pizzas, smokers dont tip, but the drinkers do.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

?? No. I've delivered pizza 12 of the last 14 years. Stoners tip. It's the old, permanently drunk ones that don't tip. More, you get a whiff of weed cloud from Grandma at the retirement home these days.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Maybe you live in a town with angry drunks. Roomate works night shift at wafflehouse and confirmed, drunks do tip better.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's all situational. There is no one type of customer. Waiters have different interactions than delivery people (I've done both). Things like time of day, what part of town, who you're working for. My first delivery gig was Flowers for Mother's Day, 1989. Drunks at home are not the same as drunks at bars. What generation are the drunks and stoners. You bring a pizza to a room of in their 20s stoners - you are a god. Make them collage stoners.... I have too many years doing this.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They totally do cuz this assumes smokers aren't drinkers... in my experience the older they are the more they litter. I used to til I noticed my old garbage and couldn't leave it.

2 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 7

Yeah this smacks of the "It's not the smokers leaving the cigarette butts all over the place, because they always put them in the bin" argument that somehow people like to believe...

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

can confirm. used to disc in the early 2010s, met bunches of super chill groups. all of those were folks in their teens and 20s. met one SUPER slow group who refused to let us play through. they were in their 30s/40s. had to call the cops once on some caricature of upper middle class boomers. they were upset we (group of 4) wouldnt let them (group of 7) play through. they tried to steal our bags, threw beer cans at us (some full, some not), made sexual threats at the one girl in our group...

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

when the one (1) cop did show up, the loudest one tried to fight the cop after threats to "sue his ass into oblivion" went ignored. by then we were starting the back 9, which starts at the chalet (ski park in the winter), so the park attendant kicked the group off the grounds. rest of the round was quiet after that, thankfully

At my local disc golf course there are recycling bins and ash trays at each tee.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Nice that they provided them. Sad that they had to. Even sadder when someone doesn't use them.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It's not sad, it's part of a safe and healthy use of the natural environment. Can't play beer handed without a beer.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It is sad that people can't hold onto their trash unless they have immediate access to a trash can.

I’ve found lot’s more people are ok littering in Australia than in NZ. NZ has a whole campaign against littering though, “Be a tidy Kiwi”, it makes a difference

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I dare say a larger % of people smoke weed in NZ than straya. That’s just cultural assumption though. Also seem to be a lot more overweight people and cigarette smokers in Australia.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not littering is definitely a learned/taught behavior. I was in Boy Scouts as a kid. Taught me to be tidy and respectful of the outdoors at all times, and to leave areas cleaner than how I found them.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My assumption would be on Australia smoking more weed, and definitely doing more drugs of other kinds. But also just a guess on my part

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Growing up in NZ I kinda felt like trying weed was like a “right of passage”. But more so with booze in Straya. I am 30 now though so it might’ve changed

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just the stench of skunk for many yards

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Not cloying at all. It's like patchouli, but only more annoying

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

I'm glad that my one pothead coworker prefers whole herb vaping. Very little residual smell, and nothing to throw away (that i've seen)

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Better than all the vape cartridges and the like other folks in the complex leave strewn around the parking lot and alleyway.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hundreds of yards* and if the wind is right, thousands.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

That would be one hell of a joint

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Last military base I was on in Colorado had civilian housing over a mile away and you could smell the weed when the breeze blew from that way. I love that people don’t think the smell carries that far.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Why do you love that?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can tell they're desensitized to it, skunk smell can travel forever

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look at that dude. Just rawdogging life.

2 years ago | Likes 677 Dislikes 2

I've done it my whole life. It's garbage.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

JK he's on acid

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm doing it right now and I fucking *hate it.*

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Totally sus! Dude isn’t even carrying his golf bag. No self respecting pro disc golfer goes without a bag full of discs. Also, no self respecting person carry’s a bag full of discs.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You get one disc and it goes on your back. Tron told me so.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You set down the bag before you throw usually.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He does have a caddy.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just bought my husband his first set and a bag as a Father's Day gift!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What a great gift! My condolences on losing your husband.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He'll be playing with the guys from our DnD group. I'm honestly glad to see him finding a hobby with friends to get out of his computer chair occasionally lol. He's an introvert but we have a great group of friends.

Pre mainstream nickel back as well. Ah what a time

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I smoked cannabis for 20 years. 6 months ago I wondered how people got through life rawn Dogging. I no longer wonder. Now I know they just cry a lot

2 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Not wrong. I don't cry often, but when I do, there's a lot of crying. Doesn't help that I'm still unemployed yet seeking. :|

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don’t all cry! Some of us are just dead inside.

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Full of grump is how.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why did you stop?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Honestly it became my only coping mechanism and made my ADHD much worse to the point that my job and relationship with my wife were both in jeopardy. I'm super glad I stopped

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Uhuhuhghh they stop my nightmares and are a fun stimulant but maybe I should cut back.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great for you! How long till you didn't want it regularly anymore?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Interesting question. I'm the past if tried to stop and got a far s far as a few months but experienced cravings the whole time. This time though, the desire to quit came from a deep internal rather than external motivation to quit plus I got diagnosed and began treatment for ADHD. Basically, I didn't have cravings much at all.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling it's making my adhd worse

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm telling ya, I never would have admitted to it even 6 months ago but now that I've been clean 4 months the difference is hugely noticable
