Why do they have full sized corn cobs? I have been lied to with this mini corn crap!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You have no idea. I never once had that orange crap or chicken balls or spring rolls.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Are those black things fermented eggs on the top right?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably 'Tea Eggs', but I could be wrong. I usually am...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought it was those ginger eggs that come with the pork knuckles but there's no way to tell for sure.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lunar year

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

You do know Chinese calendar is not lunar calendar, right?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's not just the Chinese that use it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't mind whoever use it. DONOT use it and pretend it is something else.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its tomorrow

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Why you do this . Do you have premature celabratory urges?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Welp sorry Ive been living for the past 4 days replaying Metal gear solid v and forgot that china is one day ahead.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its a whole 3 day thing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Vietnamese new year for me. Thats why we just call it lunar to those who dont know

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm from a Chinese background and I'm marrying a Vietnamese woman. I shifted pretty damn quickly to "Lunar New Year." Chúc mừng năm mới!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I still say happy chinese new year at times. Either way its Tet

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn, you are missing out! Did you if you're single, you get red packets of blessed money?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Technically the meal is prepared for the ancestors. Though the livings will eat it eventually. See the stack of paper at table corner?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Any time, man. Malaysia always has a seat at the table for the hungry.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It all looks good but the soup with the corn really caught my eye!! ????

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It makes me think of sancocho. Oh, delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that chicken or pork?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like chicken. Sancocho has chicken and beef. Ohh the goodness.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Learned the glory of that soup in the Dominican Republic. Now I'm sad I can't find it in the US. Bless that delicious soup. I miss it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandmother and aunt make it. I want to learn how to make it since I moved.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least 35% of this looks terrifying to my delicate western sensibilities.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 5

nah, Taiwanese food is mostly safe for delicate westerners

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

All of this looks delicious to my Western tongue.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I would try it all. I am for all Holidays, any religion, any reason, MORE HOLIDAYS!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

those green things are vegetables, they are nice...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The green things, from what I can tell, are a single bowl of steamed broccoli, which is nasty and has almost no nutrients

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Don't worry, Chinese dishes (especially traditional ones) typically aren't that spicy. Lots of steaming and roasting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is the huge bowl of ostrich eggs in the back?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The black ones? Looks like the eggs out of pork knuckle and ginger stew. Basically pickled chicken eggs in sweet ginger vinegar.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might be herbal tea eggs actually

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t speak Chinese so I had to use google translate but I wrote this for you!

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 4

It was here that RetailCat learned their Japanese studying was coming out alright.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was it the number 300 that gave it away, or just the complete lack of paragraph structure?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

i had it before the three hundred honestly. Got it at 'what did you say'

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh lol I was trying to decipher it via my rudimentary Chinese, didn't even get that far before it clicked

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't see a banana. I really need a banana right now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think they’re going to eat them... But to each their own..

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

With their toiny shrimp whiskers

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Street vendors in S. Korea sell them, with salt seasoning. Fucking delicious after a night of drinking.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I have yet to find the prawn vendors here, but I love the chicken on a stick

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's so good. I was in Dongducheon, many years ago. Military. Where area you at? I wonder how much has changed since I've been there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are crayfish, aren't they?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

Crayfish as so small compared, plus crays are freshwater.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Crayfish are 1:10 scale lobsters, not shrimp.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

nope, prawns/shrimp

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Langustines, or something like that, dunno how you spell it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Langoustine is French for scampi. I think they're smaller than the ones in the picture though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Phrasing.. But if that's what gets you off, who am I to judge?

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 4

Clearly a typo or misclick

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Anyone, please, how do you phonetically sound out "Xi"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I usually pronounce it like the "tzee" in "yahtzee"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's sound like he...so gong xi ( he) fat choi.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

she

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

A native speaker at work (translating "Cixin Liu" for me) said that "xi" is more like "shyi" and it doesn't really exist in English.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice! Thanks a bunch

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You kinda mixed Mandarin and Cantonese there

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1
