no, not 1 cannon 16 times. it's 16 cannons fired once. period artillery couldnt be reloaded quickly enough. He did it on purpose.

When I worked for the orchestra, we did it a few times a summer as an outdoor show. Got local re-enactors to bring cannons. BOOM! Awesome.
