My last day was, like, staring out at the Adriatic Sea with Lena Headey. It was a bit righteous and selfish of me, but I got out of costume and I jumped into the water, and everybody was like, “Fuck you, dude.” They had to keep working and it was really warm. And the water was just begging to be jumped into. It was crystal blue and perfect day. And we were on this, kind of like, pier. So I had this, like, really really long running start where I just got to sprint towards the water and then just like, dive in. And I’m like you know, like a fish. Whee! Whee! And they were all like, “You fucking asshole.” Pedro Pascal.

Look out for him in the next Kingsman Movie as Agent Whiskey!

It is a curious thing, no? How everyone in westeros speaks in an English accent, but we here in Dorne speak in a Spanish one like so.

8 years ago | Likes 385 Dislikes 1

Not really. The northerners have different accents than the south too.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Damn you that was a Spanish accent in my head the entire thing. I hate it when people do that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IIRC he based the accent off of his Chilean grandfather, and as the first Dornish character to speak, he set the precedent.

Westoros seems similar to Europe with different cultures and accents. Dorne is like Spain/the north is like Scandanavia etc.

Is it weird I read this like a khajit in elderscrolls

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think Elsweyr and Dorne are probably the closest analogues in the two universes.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought dornish was more of an Indian accent

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 17

I always saw it as Westeros is the UK and Dorne is a mix of all sorts of European.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's very similar to the UK. The show took that even further by given the Northern characters very thick Northen English accents.

The Capital is in the South, up t'north everyone's a bit miserable and it's cold. And beyond the wall/border are the Scottish wildlings...

The show didn't go into it, but Dorne has a different cultural history than the rest of Westeros. 3 different groups settled the land (1/3)

8 years ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 0

There's the First Men (who worship the Old Gods); the Andals (who worship the seven); and the Rhoynar (who were driven out of their (2/3)

Homeland by the valyrians and their dragons and then settled in Dorne (and isolated themselves for defensive purposes)

Rhoynar only settled around Sunspear. House Dayne for example is nearly pure andal.

Baelish had more of an Irish accent going on when he was out of King's Landing...

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Nah, he's just a snake and speaks in a "soft" and "soothing" tone.

I just thought he had the Irish accent in the Fingers, but tried to "fit in" with the people of King's Landing by speaking more like them.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Would fit the character.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Baelish is Braavosi
