Install Adhuard on your devices, and you will wonder what people are talking about when they complain about ads on imgur.

And if you have a LAN, look into network-level ad blocking, which is transparent to the browser. Pi-Hole is a popular DNSBL, pfsense users have pfBlockerNG, and the widely available DNS resolver Unbound supports blocklists. Block all ads everywhere online.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: Since 2018, MediaLab has been building a "mini-media empire" by acquiring stale apps and websites & jam-packing them full of shitty ads. They've also allowed exploitative photos of abused children to be traded on Kik and done nothing about it. Oh, but for imgurian purposes, MediaLab basically sells the front page to PR firms to promote content in ways that seem "organic" but are actually paid promotional enshittified capitalist crap. ~𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺~

No better than Noam Chomsky to explain to us how late stage capitalism ruins everything we've ever loved--including Imgur.

What's going on?

Imgur got bought by MediaLab. They have been breaking stuff behind the scenes. They fired all the staff to pivot to an AI moderation model. On top of the other bugs, sitewide notifications broke on Friday. They didn't get fixed til Monday. In the meantime they ignored reports. Then started removing complaint posts and temp banning users who were critical of them. So now we riot.

Get as much in the short term, sacrificing a future for a hedonistic present. Time to speculate about the management's favorite form of hedonism

They don't seem to like it when we talk about Epstein, so it would be irresponsible not to speculate.
