The Random Minstrel I Hired Has Incredible Frontline Stats (what I picture)

How is it even possible to roll 20 on anything?!

When you wrestle at 2 but have Orchestra practice at 4:30

Here's his tinder profile:

He also enjoys telling people that he's not done with them, and that they're "going to catch these hands".

Nice

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who is not that strong but played upright for a few years now, that’s not as hard as it looks. Holding it like an axe over 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your head hoping your band teacher will notice you, that’s hard. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course not, they're hollow. It probably weighs less than an olympic barbell, which are not hard to lift on their own.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also seeing how the scene played out it's probably a fake one so it should weigh even less.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That being said, carrying an upright across campus can be tiring just because it’s a cumbersome instrument.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BRAUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

I’m not a huge fan of new wrestling but gad dam his intro music is badass.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just saying for the non-wrestling fans, this is Braun Strowman. He is the best thing about Wrestling right now, everything he does is gold

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

GET THESE HANDS!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For example

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

"everything he does" or everything they script for him?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

Is he not doing it himself?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just trying to make sure we credit ALL the talent involved. If he has great lines it because A) he has great delivery & B) great Writers!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean yeah, he's playing a character. It's like saying any other character is awesome. Though he does have a pretty awesome YouTube channel

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's clearly all about that bass.

8 years ago | Likes 644 Dislikes 10

He is not lookin for treble.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No treble

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Nah, just a 12/4 violin

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

Or 4/2 cello.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Or a 3/8 tree

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And he's about to beat the Cello out of you.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

That's the treble with Bards....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hes clearly a large monstrous humanoid with monkey grip to allow him to weild a huge classed violin. Duh

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How can you think of fishing, in a moment like this!???

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You're thinking of bass. He said bass.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, that's the gay guy from *NSYNC. Youre thinking of brass.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think they were doing a play off words...because I don't think that's a cello?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That is not a cello

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 10

You're powers of observation and mastery of song is unparalleled

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yower Correct!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never trust a bard, they're only in it for the lute.

8 years ago | Likes 619 Dislikes 1

Oh, Dad...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Your welcome, im here all life.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, they'll just fiddle with your heart - y'know, string you along 'til you two strike a chord. Really drives you to violins.

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Brilliant!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There is inherent treble with any bard. They are all about the bass.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn, that’s a good one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How exactly does one roll a 20 on 3d6?

8 years ago | Likes 225 Dislikes 14

Lots of ways to do stats. Also some versions have straight stat check rolls, so it could be that. Ass.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Carefully

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two upside down sixes and a two all sprinkled with just the right amount of stupidity.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

House rules. My DM has a rule where if you roll all 1s then it's a 20. He also lets us roll a D20 instead of 3D6 for stats.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

skills

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very carefully

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

4d6 drop lowest, racial modifiers, my dm has a rule that if you roll 4 of the same that's what you keep. Could be a 4, could be 24.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Likely a Strength check rather than their actual stat.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's talking about a skill check.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm they mean a natural 20 on strength roll, either for a weapon or saving throw or grapple or athletics check, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe half orc, +2 racial modifier?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If any real person is part orc it's Braun Fucking Strowman

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

High charisma smooths over little inconsistencies like that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You invest your points wisely at level 4.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Life finds a way

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look if Braun Strowman told me his character had a 20 strength I'm not going to argue.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Don’t people usually roll 4d6 drop lowest?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That doesn't change the maximum possible roll of 18, though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

modifier. Goliath gets a +2 to Strength

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I’ve seen people who have just rolled 6d20 for stats. Absolute crazy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

18, 1, 16, 18, 2, 3 that is gonna be a well rounded character XD

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know right?! Like 3 is already completely inept (3 is when sapient creatures just become so) so how did they think a 1 was gonna go?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they are a gelatinous cube (only thing i could find with multiple 1's) so get your riding belt and punch in the direction you wanna go

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... crap that might be a interesting role play (short campaign only)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he's human so he got 18 and added his racial 2 to strength

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

*mutters angrily in 3.5e*

“Gifted, grasping and troublesome, as is so often the case with firstborn.” -Paarthurnax on 3.0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same for Pathfinder

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aye Pathfinder is a nice system, starfinder too

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not really. It's a pretty crap system.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Big fan of Pathfinder it's more internally consistent and easy to edit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or it’s a d20 str check,like for grapple.

8 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 3

Hello

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Except unless they are very weak they wouldn’t have to make the roll for somthing that weight

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuckin wish my DM took base stats into consideration more. Makes you role for everything.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn’t make any sense and sounds tedious. Someone with 18 str shouldn’t have to roll to pick up an object like a keg.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh it is, my performance's (Bard) are 10+ by default. I'm gonna pass the roll. Just assume unless I'm being fancy about something/drunk/etc.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or house rules. Rolling trip 6 for stats gave you one more d6 for higher stats. The PC was considered blessed or gifted. At least in my game

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Rifts (and Palladium generally) let you keep rolling until you got no more sixes, IIRC. Not that stats for humans mattered. #MEGADAMAGE

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4d6 drop the lowest die. Reroll pairs of 1s and 2s.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Allowing 2s for reroll? You're a generous God.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not anymore though. We’re in 5th edition. It’s standard array. No rolling. No point buy. Just 15,14,13,12,10,8.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can still roll in 5th... Or do you mean you just don't allow it?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't strength have something like that? A human with a natural 18 got to roll a percentage for extraordinary strength. It's been awhile

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In AD&D that was the case yes. In 3.0 onwards races began getting higher bonuses to stats. Elves in 3.5 get a +2 to Dex and a -2 to Con

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that was ad&d, a very long time ago

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They dated themselves. I recognized it. LOL

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v THAC0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, got to hit that armor class 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just giving upvote because I roll 1st edition with a few nods to 2e for non weaps. Rolling 18/00 was always the goal

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My troupe and I improvised a lot. We had all the books but reading is hard...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Indeed it is!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's awesome. I played as a teen and haven't played in years but the comments bring back memories.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was back in Advanced D&D. It has been simplified a lot since then.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Really? I played AD&D till a decade ago or so, it wasn't that complicated was it?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not really, but they wanted a more mainstream and streamlined system to appeal to a wider audience.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mathematical!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

WotC dropped the "Advanced" designation after 2e, think of that what you will...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Currently playing a half-orc bard. 18 Ch, 16 Str. On the off chance he can't persuade you or make you swoon, he'll smash pretty good. :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm actually planning a Minotaur bard right now. A heavy metal one.
