"Ill Mind of Hopsin 7" by Hopsin

The formerly religious Hopsin has a passionate conversation with a god who he is struggling to keep faith in. He's angry because he wants to believe and hesitant because a society he doesn't trust has forced that belief on him. The raw emotion in his voice is strikingly beautiful.

"Man, what if Jesus was a facade?
Then that would mean the government’s God
I feel like they’ve been brainwashing us with a lot
So much that we don’t even notice that we’re stuck in the box"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsA2ETp7JA

"Glory" by I-Know Brasco

Philly rapper, I-Know Brasco, gets brutally honest about the conditions of living in an impoverished city while keeping his focus and a level-head as an up-and-coming rapper. The lyrics are incredible, and it sounds amazing when coupled with Punk Rock guitarist, Anthony Edge.

"Twelve year old moms, Twenty-six year old grandmoms
Schools is getting closed down, the kids are forming flashmobs
They aint do their homework, but they know Rick Ross's last rhyme
...And I'm trying not to preach on it
But I wouldn't be a man if I didn't speak on it"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94KVklsCzHg

"Happy Birthday" by Joyner Lucas

Lucas has a flawless gift for consistently creating emotional videos that match the intensity of his words. "Happy Birthday" is written to a child he raised as his own until he learned his significant other cheated on him during what he thought was a perfect relationship. A paternity test reveals the baby isn't his, and he uses this piece to deal with his storm of emotions.

"Sometimes I wanna explain but I don't know where to start
Cause you won't understand even if I told you my thoughts
Cause even when its light
I feel like I'm alone and its dark
My mind keeps racing fast
I can't bear with this pain I have"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6RpbgrHVV0

"Yesterday" by Atmosphere

If there was ever a song you needed to really appreciate the important people in your life, "Yesterday" is it. Without going into much detail, it's one of those songs I recommend you keep listening to until the very last word.

"I like to tangle up the strings of the puppetry
But you knew me back when I was a younger me
You seen Sean in all types of light
And I've been meanin' to ask you if I'm doin' alright"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FJUD0rEPWM

"Pray for Me" by Joe Budden

Budden tells the story of a man who is murdered and wakes up to God. He is then asked, after living a life of sins, why he should be allowed into heaven. He defends his actions while blaming God for unfair circumstances in an intense back and forth.

"Look, I woke up without a heart beat
But I remember we was just in the car deep
Was at a light and got approached by a car thief
He pulled out but didn't ask for no car keys
A loud noise without a voice but I'm tryna scream out shit is not fair
I can't tell you where I'm at or how I got here"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o61emtyGBq8

"Retrospect for Life" by Common ft Lauryn Hill

Common is an incredible poet who fearlessly tackles difficult and controversial topics. In this case, he speaks on the subject of abortion and dealing with an initially easy decision that had tremendous emotional consequences.

"To someone, my life for you I woulda had to leave
Instead I lead you to death
I'm sorry for takin' your first breath, first step, and first cry
But I wasn't prepared mentally nor financially"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmDybzfNBG0

"Uncle Sam Goddamn" by Brother Ali

Brother Ali addresses political corruptness, poverty and inequality in America. He isn't afraid to speak his message and make people uncomfortable whether or not you agree with his views.

"You don't give money to the bums
On a corner with a sign, bleeding from their gums
Talking about you don't support a crackhead
What you think happens to the money from your taxes"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO18F4aKGzQ

"Snooze" by Snow Tha Product

Snow is known for her flow and quotables. She praises her Mexican-American heritage by often rapping in both Spanish and English. "Snooze" is no different. Although short, it's too the point, touching on racism, the media, sexism, and other issues.

"America's obsessed with making things so big except the clothes
Over-sexualized mass media
Over exposed so bright you can't see enough
So no details, just females, being the shells of beings"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR-dk5XhqrI

"You Never Know" by Immortal Technique

Thinking back to a woman who he once loved, Immortal Technique explores his deeply emotional past and inability to give love again. With his true gift for telling personal stories, he admits his brokenness with sincerity.

"She could only sob hysterically, holding me tight
I tried to speak, but she wouldn't stop until I left sight
I felt like a moth who got himself too close to the light
Except I didn't burn, I turned cold after that night"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv7w200rrcs

BONUS: "Dance with the Devil" by Immortal Technique

If you haven't already, check out "Dance with the Devil" also by Immortal Technique. I recommended it on an earlier post, and although it's lyrically one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, it'll tear your heart out. It was difficult picking lyrics that represented the heart of the song without completely giving away the plot.

"The devil grows inside the hearts of the selfish and wicked
White, brown, yellow and black colored is not restricted
You have a self destructive destiny when you're inflicted
And you'll be one of God's children who fell from the top
There's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot"

Happy birthday is so raw it makes you feel like your in his position.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

+1 for Immortal Technique. Realest rapper in the game.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 5

Can't take a list with Hopsin seriously.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 7

Yeah, he has some really good stuff but every time I hear something that tells me he stands for this good thing or that good thing with his

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

rap, another songs of his comes on right after, talking about smoking crack while fucking a midget in the club bathroom. Idk how big he

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

really wants to get but if he cut out half the shock value verses he spits, he could go really far.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Damn Joyner Lucas hit like a truck! I still listen to Jedi Mind Tricks on an almost daily basis, this is a breath of fresh air.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Army of the Pharaohs <3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hopsin is shit lol

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

Why does everyone think this?!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cuz his lyrics sound like a edgy 13 year old rapping about what he wrote down in his diary

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'm Bo Yo. by Bo Burnham

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

I think nerds is better.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally anything Bo. Kill Yourself. The song, not a suggestion.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love a lot of these and rap in general, but I just can't get into hopsin

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

That's because he's fucking embarrassing

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Me neither, pseudo intellectuals just grind my gears .

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

How is he a pseudo-intellectual? More like a hypocrite.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Because he's 28 but has the knowledge og an arrogant teenager.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Wish I saw Watsky on the list but great list!

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

Callout*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was scrolling down looking for a "Watsky" fallout, glad I found it!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can think of five of his songs that speak to me so deeply it makes me wonder if some experiences are almost universal.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I couldn't agree more. Except for one of his newest ones. haha.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watsky anybody?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Woah woah woah we should really re think this list because as of right now my teardrops could,b turned to diamonds. Only if I go to Sarajevo

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His new album is awesome. Midnight Heart especially.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My top three are Talking to Myself Don't Be Nice, and Yes Britannia

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of the most underrated rappers IMO

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not exactly underrated, he has like half a million monthly listeners on Spotify and the same amount of subs on Youtube

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lol he deserves more tho

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I learned about him recently. I like his stuff a whole lot!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No Aesop Rock? That's disappointing.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I agree man, Aesop is not only lyrically but emotionally great

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. love his latest album. I'd say Daylight is probably my favorite song of his

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You need some Eyedea on this list.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"Now" https://youtu.be/jAWrscplyOA got me into them. And of course "Smile"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

R.I.P.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Here for you" should absolutely be on this list

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was looking for this, here's your +1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RIP

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Came here for this comment!!! He got me into rap

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Lol. Dude just wants to freak...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I asked the same thing. I have loved rap for a long time, most new rappers are shit he has me interested again

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

AKA the time travelers wife, the independent variable...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

AKA the common denominator

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't get me wrong Lil Dicky is amazing but, there's an emotional theme to all of these songs and Lil Dicky is not known for emotional songs

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

I understand you point, but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZkVqLjGM_I

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Somebody already mentioned it. Not sure what that link is supposed to change though, because my point still stands.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Russell Westbrook On a Farm and Molly would earn a place on this list, though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except generally people don't know who Dicky even is, or enough that they know these two particular songs.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Knowing little of rap in general and yet knowing of LD, I'd say he's more well known than most of the other artists on this list

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much you know about rap means nothing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fVPtBy2ssM This one is quite emotional as well

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Molly is pretty emotional, though.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"is not known for" I don't disagree but, you also have to consider Dicky still isn't that known.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Agreed, I can see a place on this list for that song.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

made a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgsJrlbDDI49kjXH5Scozmu-5veLFTmzP here ya go

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You never see budden and/or slaughterhouse in these type of lists and it makes me sad. That's how I know if it's a good list or not

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rap CAN be lyrically beautiful and meaningful, I like it seeing used for such purposes.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Of course nigga budded has always been poppin

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I've been listening to him for ages as well. Pump it up is a classic to me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmmm i respect the opinion, thats just interesting though. To most people, Pump It Up ruined him for anyone listening to his stuff seriously

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jersey proud!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Joe budden is a beast. He's my favourite rapper, can't wait for rage and the machine next month

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got downvoted to hell for suggesting joe budden in the comments of a different rap/hip hop post.Been one of my favorites since high school

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dude he's crazy good

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Slaughterhouse is the truth! Lyrically Joell Ortiz is the top dog.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

His podcast is also fantastic for those how haven't listened!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And Slaughter House. Could've made this whole list on just those members.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 2

whenever I mention them or even more so the individual members, no one knows who im talking about. Finally other ppl who've heard of them

Joell Ortiz is so underrated.

slaughterhouse FTW!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been fucking with Slaughter since they dropped that first album. They are all so individually talented but as a group it's like damn!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

jesus I just realized that youtube I linked has 11k views, SO SLEPT ON

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Joe Budden is fantastic, I started listening to his stuff ever since the Shady 2.0 Cypher. He just got a bad wrap ever since Pump It Up, no

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Since I heard slaughterhouse I've been fucking with him

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

one wanted to give him the time of day.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Serious question, why the bad rap because of the song? Was he considered a "sellout" because of it?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess, the people i usually hear hating on him prefer the street shit so im guessing it catered to the radio and what not so people still

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hate on him, but literally only for that song.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Atmosphere +1

9 years ago | Likes 523 Dislikes 14

Lost 4 friends 9 years ago today, the 24th of Sep. I always listen to Atmosphere- Yesterday on this day and reminisce about the good times.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I was listening to it and just thinking that it was a nice tune and heartfelt and then the last verse came and hit me like a truck. T_T

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Real cool dude, he took the time to shake hands with everyone waiting in line for his concert in the middle of a Chicago winter

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Happiness- Token. That is a great song that makes you think. Similar to these artist.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Atmosphere finally made a good record? Right, that almost sounds convincing.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

trying to find a balance!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That last line hits you like a brick in the chest and changes everything

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Love that song, but nothing compares to hearing it live. I felt pain in my chest and teared up a little, even though I knew what was coming.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Still gets me every time.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ya not many songs have actual movie-like twists in them. Dance with the Devil is the only other one i can think of

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Last time I saw my dad before he died of a heart attack, we fought. I was a dumb kid, that was 20 years ago.

Heard it for the first time a couple months after losing my dad. Broke down and cried for almost an hour. Still makes me tear up.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

First time I heard it I thought it was about an ex GF until the last line knocked back into the chair.

If you like Atmosphere check out Prof. Another great Minnesota artist.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'll definitely check it out! Thanks man!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Prof is the best! Rhymesayers kills the game. Add Aesop Rock to the mix too...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or Dem Atlas, or Greg Grease or Chantz Erolin.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He saved this list for me, personally. If you're talking lyrically, you need to include the roots, gangstarr, big l.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One of my all time favorites. Can Meekins is reminiscent of Atmosphere in case anybody is interested.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Finally going to get to see them in November!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hopefully Slug is sober. If he's wasted the show will be ruined.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw brother Ali and atmosphere 2 weeks ago, show was awesome

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Snow is amazing. as a mexican i really appreciate her acknowledgment of the world being "black and white" meaning no one talks about brown.

9 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 9

I'm Latina as well. It's refreshing and she makes it a point to not turn herself into an object like so many female rappers

9 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 2

I just learned about her yesterday. Thank you for pointing out another reason I should listen

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I like her song with tech nine "so dope"

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Thank you! I could never put into words how I never saw myself as "white" until I came to the states and was basically told I was white

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

In a perfect world we wouldn't see the colours

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I hate that song and video so much. Snow is so watered down from where she used to be.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 10

Just an other perspective here but there's a saying that no news it good news. So while I do understand that you feel left out of the 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Conversation as someone is brown. Sometimes it's better to stay out of the conversation, at least there's no negativity then. But I do 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Get on the other hand how it's important to be considered in certain conversations when it comes to the wellbeing of Latinos and other

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Brown people's.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And Snow is decent. There are better hispanic rappers out there that are better at what she does. Research people.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

I got to touch her boob once lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

storytime?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like that "Informer" song he did.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Snow, the canadian, is still making music. He lived the actual thug life, served time for attempted murder and continues to release singles.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nailed it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dammit. Now it's stuck in my head.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A licky boom-boom down!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Hispanics haven't had to endure the hate blacks have. Immigration? Big deal, at least you don't get shot for being a darker shade. So, yeah.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 20

Except that we do, Hispanics have suffered from police brutality as well but no one is talking about it. That's her point.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're a poor ignorant soul if you think that's true.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Are u for real?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well I'm mexican, and I got thrown in jail after approaching an officer looking for directions...we all have faced this one way or another.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And how about you actually research racism again Latinos? It's alive and well today.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuck off. Youve never had to deal with seeing your cousin being dragged from her home because she was brought as a child for a better life.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I wish Hopsin was more popular. Well-known rap music today sucks bad.

9 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 27

Theres so much great hip hop out there right now bro. You just have to look for it. Hip hop is still alive and well

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

whenever drake comes on my and my sister call it "not-music". it literally just does not sound like music..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

fucking lol. drake is one of the most musical rappers out. with his singing and rapping styles he has more melody than most.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Today's rap music isn't awful tbh. I mean, people like Wiz Khalifa suck ass but there's a lot of popular rappers out there that're great.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

he's not popular because he has no originality. literally a carbon copy of eminem except he's cringy and has really basic "woke" messages

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuuuuck. I've never hear of him but good god he is amazing. Definitely gonna be looking through more of his stuff today.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's so awful and the same repetitive bullshit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not all of it. Please stop.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

+1. Mainstream rappers are mainstream for a reason.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

Seriously. Fuck your whole "everything old is better" I believe that, but j also believe the new is good. So this is a garbage ass opinion

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Didn't hopsin get real into the whole Illuminati thing? I stopped listening around that point

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

He's dumb as a brick so it doesn't suprise me.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Oh u grew up with him?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

"the inventor of college never went to college" - someone that's as dumb as a brick

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

He raps about how he was a special ed student

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well fly might be the dumbest song of all time so...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I don't get what people see in him tbh. But i think rap is more creative today than 5-10 years ago.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

I see a reincarnation of the Slim Shady I miss so much.

In what way?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First time I thought it was Ill Mind 4, with all the shots at celebs and comic-y style. But on top of that, and was hasn't changed is 1/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/ his flow. Basically I'm not a fan of Eminem, and feel like Slim Shady was a mystical satirical spirit that has to beam out of someone

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why I made this list lol there's still real rap out there

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 7

Much appreciated.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol in what way are they anymore "real" than other artists?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Don't be "that guy". This list is great but let's not act as if this is any more legitimate than a mainstream rapper.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All rap is real

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Have you listened to Aesop's The Impossible Kid? It's fucking amazing. I think it was his way of saying sorry for Skelethon haha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out King Mez his Long Live the King album is dope.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hopsin's not good, imo. People just use him as a scapegoat. "I hate rap, but hopsin and eminem are cool." Freaking yikes.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 13

Lmao truue

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

I really appreciate this list. I'm horrible at finding new artists, especially in mainstream rap. I literally only listen to Kendrick Lamar

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There's a good amount of mainstream rappers you might've heard about, don't be afraid to listen to 2 or 3 songs, you might enjoy one of em.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

:) I'm picky.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Try J. Cole, check out his album Forest Hills Drive. Every song in there is awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

K I will!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I'm blanking on his name but the guy from Community.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Donald Glover.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah yes thanks.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol, Childish Gambino.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Childish gambino

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are better known rappers that are good K. Lamar, J.cole, Anderson paak, wale, logic for example

9 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 3

All much better than hopsin

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Also, Mick Jenkins, Chance The Rapper, Alex Wiley, Isaiah Rashad, Schoolboy Q, Ab Soul, Mac Miller ( his newer music), the list goes on.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

It makes me sad that Mick Jenkins isn't very popular :(

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Mac miller is and always has been a champ in my book

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I've loved all his music, but Blue Slide Park was a really bad album to me.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Eh, after seeing him live a couple of times I've lost respect for him

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Ill mind of hopin v is great

9 years ago | Likes 479 Dislikes 22

FLY is another one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

He throws so much shade, it's fantastic

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Im thrilled to see that hop is getting some attention

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

I like the Ill mind of hopsin songs. Most of them have some kind of message to them.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

*hopsin is great

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

I love Hopsin!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Best rap song I ever heard, shocked this guy isn't more famous. Except that he doesn't talk about dumb shit, so nevermind that's why.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

Ugh. No. People in hip-hop dislike him bcos he's corny, annoying and his online attention-seeking antics are so childish. (1)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

His lyrics often are ridiculously cringey too. "I'm the shit like I slithered in poo"? It's not bcos he talks about "real" stuff

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He talks about dumb shit, too.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Hopsin is an absolute joke. Fly is (unintentionally) one of the funniest songs ever recorded... He's just so corny.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 22

Corny how? His songs are written honestly, what else do you want from an artist?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Corny because his raps don't go deeper than surface level, there's no nuance. Those lyrics that OP quoted - do you honestly read those and..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

...think "wow, so deep and meaningful." I mean "So much that we don’t even notice that we’re stuck in the box"... come on, that's juvenile.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh and one final thing - "Did the man who invented college go to college?" -- from Fly. That right there is the funniest lyric of all time

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His Ill mind songs are amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hopsin is just good

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 9

Yes

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Oui, mes amis

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even tho 6 was pretty sad I still love it

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 3

There's also a 5.5 response video which is pretty good as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Gotta disagree. He's poop.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 30

Go back to selling propane and substitute teaching Spanish.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 14

...v means 5 ....I realize this now

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

5, 7, and 8 are all great.

9 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 3

6 was fucking amazing, how would you skip that? Just because it's sad? Wtf?

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Or he just didn't like it? :o

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I watched 7 just now and damn I dont wanna listen to these other songs to pollute that

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I love from 5-8 all amazing Imo

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

People who like Hospin are mainly white suburban kids who think he's edgy

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 32

keep downvoting white suburban ppls

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Bet your playlists are jammed with shit like kendrick, young thug, lil bibby, lil yachty and all those other bs "rappers"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Think Kendrick is a bs rapper? xD I do not listen to young thug, lil yachty so nice try

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Listen to TPABF before you call kendrick a BS rapper.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

youtube is leaking

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

People are angry because they fit your completely accurate description

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 18

I was going to disagree but I'm white and from suburban Atlanta so..

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

How? Just another whiney person complaining how god isn't real

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 21

Expressing doubts about God is not whining about Him not being real. If anything, it's admirable that he is seeking answers for himself.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hes going over the same ground old philosophers did. Though he resolves on an Absence of Evidence, evidence of absence conclusion.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not entirely. Check out Ill mind 5. He puts his own perspective on how entitled teens are these days.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

in hospin seven eyah

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

He's not complaining. He's talking about personal struggles and the loss of faith. Some people can relate.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

doesn't make him lyrically brilliant
