In a twist that should surprise nobody, the opposite is actually the case.
The US military dominance has a chilling effect. Under the American umbrella, ally countries can enjoy basic security, knowing that their neighbors won't invade, because that neighbor won't mess with the American guests hosted on a base in the ally's territory.
In a trade war, that hosting gets more tenuous, and even those carriers find themselves diminished when they need longer supply lines.
That's only partially true. It's not as concerning as say an active war is for Ukrainians, but when the economic consequences of this hits Americans it will very much be near the top of our concerns.
Which is why I said "right now." EVERYTHING they are doing at the moment will be a disaster down the line, but there are a number of things we need to address IMMEDIATELY if we want to actually have a 'down the line' to worry about.
To clarify, the Trade War is not a fabricated crisis. It's something Trump legitimately thinks is a critical tool of "diplomacy." Which is the problem that is making things worse than they even might have been: they are doing EVERYTHING because they know they can get away with it, so any stupid-ass nonsense that they think will make them richer and more in control is on the table.
good. as an american i am so terribly sorry the current FOTUS is such an unhinged delusional pile of dogshit. please, hit us where it fucking hurts and do not bend the knee to hitler jr.
I doubt most will even remember. Do you know about the last one US did back in 20th century? The only people that remember are elderly folks that lost their businesses or jobs to it.

Palpatine's plan was to cause distrust in the system to gain power. Then once in power, cause chaos to maintain that power.
Sound familiar?

Well sir orange allegedly believes that if the tariffs leads to a trade war the us will win because they have bigger and better aircraft carriers....

In the end it will do America more harm than good. Trump's first trade war:

Honestly, as of right now? The Trade Wars are among the LEAST of our concerns, disastrous as they may be.
