Just got back from a trip to the Azores. Beautiful and cheaper than most international travel ($499 for flight and hotel). Go there someday.

Went there six years ago around Christmas. Beautifulestest place ever. Just returned from the Canaries. Id pick Madeira over them anytime.

I have wiki'd. Apparently it's an English cake but was traditionally accompanied by Madeira wine which is how it got its name.
